Dec. 18. John's last IV chemo!! - Dic. 18. La ultima quimo intravenosa de John!!

Today, Dec. 18, John had his last IV chemo cycle, and after being there (6th. floor of the cancer agency) 6 times during the last months, only today I took some pictures of the views from there, enjoy them!!
Hoy, Dic. 18, John tuvo su ultimo ciclo de quimioterapia intravenosa, y despues de haber estado alli (6to. piso de la agencia de cancer) 6 veces, hasta hoy no tome algunas fotos de las vistas desde alli, disfrutenlas!!

 Beautiful day, sunny and nice temperature!! Hermoso dia, soleado y con una temperatura agradable!!

More or less in the middle of the picture, the tallest building (blueish-grayish one) is supposedly the tallest hotel in Vancouver!!
Mas o menos en la mitad de la foto, el edificio mas alto (azul-grisaceo) es supuestamente el hotel mas alto en Vancouver!!

His last time here (this floor)!! Nurses normally ''wrap'' one of his arms with a hot wet towel for some minutes, to help his veins to be more ''visible''. And his shirt is ''hanging'' that way because he has his cell in the pocket!!
Su ultima vez aqui (en este piso)!! Las enfermeras normalmente le ''envuelven'' uno de sus brazos con una toalla humeda y caliente por algunos minutos, para ayudar a que sus venas sean mas ''visibles''. Y su camisa esta ''colgada'' asi porque tiene el celular en el bolsillo!!
 

New Westminster - Nueva Westminster

The other day I went to an appointment and the office is located in New Westminster, the city on the other side of the river. After the appointment I was planning to meet with John to go for lunch, but as my appointment finished a little early, I went to the river walk and took some pictures, and after talking to John a little later, we decided to leave lunch there for another time, but I enjoyed more time taking more pictures!!
It was a really foggy day, and even I love snow a lot more, I also enjoy foggy days, with all its ''mistery''!!
And I also hope you'll enjoy these pictures as much as I did taking them!!
El otro dia fui a una cita y la oficina esta localizada en Nueva Westminster, la ciudad al otro lado del rio. Luego de la cita estaba planeando encontrarme con John para almorzar, pero como la cita termino temprano, decidi irme al camino del rio y tomar algunas fotos, y luego de hablar con John algo mas tarde, decidimos dejar el almuerzo para otra ocasion, pero yo disfrute un poco mas de tiempo tomando mas fotos!!
Fue un dia con mucha neblina, y aunque adoro la nieve mucho mas, tambien me gustan los dias con neblina, con todo su ''misterio''!!
Y tambien espero que ustedes disfruten estas fotos tanto como yo disfrute tomandolas!!

The first bridge is the one for the Skytrain. The one behind is for vehicles. And this is the Fraser River, one of the most important rivers in British Columbia.
El primer puente es el del Metro. El de atras es para vehiculos.  Y este es el Rio Fraser, uno de los rios mas importantes en British Columbia.

The first time I saw this kind of flowers I thought how similar they look to lettuce, now I'm more used to them but still found them beautiful and ''interesting''!!
La primera vez que vi estas flores pense en lo similares que son a la lechuga, ahora ya estoy mas acostumbrada a verlas pero aun las encuentro hermosas e ''interesantes''!!

Increible el ''efecto'' que unas simples gotas de lluvia pueden crear!!

I was just thinking how lucky some of you are!! You can enjoy the beauty of a winter scene without leaving the comfort of your home or work place!!
Estaba pensando lo afortunados que son algunos de ustedes!! Pueden disfrutar de la belleza de una escena de invierno sin tener que dejar el comfort de sus hogares o lugares de trabajo!! 

For the ones that don't like Winter too much, have you think that without Winter, the Spring would not be so pleasant? I know isn't Winter yet, but count the days until Spring and you'll realize that every day is one day less for Winter and one day closer to Spring!!
Para los que no les gusta mucho el invierno, han pensado que sin el invierno, la primavera no seria tan placentera? Ya se que no es invierno aun, pero cuenten los dias hasta la primavera y se daran cuenta que cada dia es un dia menos de invierno y un dia mas cerca a la primavera!!
 

It was a little cold day, but seeing this ''couple'' of doves made me feel warmer inside!!
Ese dia hacia un poco de frio, pero el ver a esta ''pareja'' de palomas me hizo sentir mejor interiormente!!
  

How great Nature is, even during snowy and rainy days, there are always flowers around to bright our day!!
Que grandiosa es la naturaleza, aun durante dias de nieve y lluvia, siempre hay flores alrededor para iluminar nuestro dia!!
 

The pace is gentler, everything looks ''softer''; it's the perfect time for contemplation, and long conversations with beloved ones and with ourselves as well!!
El ritmo es mas tranquilo, todo luce mas ''suave''; es el tiempo perfecto para la contemplacion, y para largas conversaciones con nuestros seres queridos y con nosotros mismos tambien!!
     

Supposedly, Spring, Summer, and Fall fill us with hope, but for me, Winter is the season of hope, knowing that Spring will come after and all nature will rebirth!! (The Skytrain bridge again!)
Supuestamente, primavera, verano, y otono nos llenan de esperanza, pero para mi, el invierno es la estacion de la esperanza, sabiendo que la primavera llegara y toda la naturaleza renacera!! (El puente del Metro de nuevo!)

Can you imagine if they look so ''delightful'' to us, how much more ''delightful'' they can look to the animals that feed on them?
Se pueden imaginar si lucen tan ''deliciosas'' para nosotros, que tanto mas ''deliciosas'' pueden lucir a los animales que se alimentan de ellas?

As I wrote before, I know some people who doesn't like snow, but fortunately, I also know people like me, ''crazy'' about it!!
Some days ago I went to visit my friend Lily, and today's pictures are from the park I normally cross to go to her place, from her place, and from her daughter, between others, enjoy them!!
Como escribi antes, conozco algunas personas a quienes no les gusta la nieve, pero afortunadamente, tambien conozco gente como yo, ''locos'' por ella!!
Hace algunos dias fui a visitar a mi amiga Lily, y las fotos de hoy son del parque que normalmente cruzo para ir a su casa, de su casa, y de su hija, entre otras, disfrutenlas!! 

As I mentioned before, they don't hibernate. This one, even with snow, is still looking for food!!
Como mencione antes, ellas no hibernan. Esta, aun con nieve, esta todavia buscando comida!!

Creative, isn't it? Michel, Lily's son, 4 years old, ''printed'' his hand and then ''painted'' Rudolph the red nose reindeer (of course, with help from his teacher)!!
Creativo, no les parece? Michel, el hijo de Lily, de 4 anitos, ''imprimio'' su mano y luego ''pinto'' a Rodolfo, el reno de la nariz roja (por supuesto, con ayuda de su profesora)!!

Lily cut my hair, applied some make up, and took the picture!! Normally I'm not very photogenic, but this is a good one, John and I agree!!
Lily me corto el cabello, me aplico algo de maquillaje, y tomo la foto!! Normalmente no soy muy fotogenica, pero esta esta muy bien, John y yo estamos de acuerdo!!

Yes, there is snow around, but officially it's still Autumn!! And these colored leaves are still there to remind us about it!!

Snow!!! - Nieve!!!

Dec. 9th., 2013. First snow of the season!! And now I'm sure you can imagine my smile!!
Around 4:30 p.m., I decided to go for a walk to Bear Creek park, sure that I'll be able to enjoy our first snow even a little more!! It was dark (as you can see in the pictures, LOL!), and as I wasn't using the right boots, I ''skidded'' twice, but fortunately I wasn't hurt, and with the emotion of being around snow, I just laughed at myself!!!
Dic. 9, 2013. La primera nieve de la temporada!! Y ahora estoy segura que pueden imaginarse mi sonrisa!!
A eso de las 4:30 p.m., decidi dar una caminada por el parque Quebrada del oso, segura de que disfrutaria aun un poco mas  nuestra primera nevada!! Ya estaba oscuro (como pueden ver en las fotos, jajaja!), y como no estaba usando las botas adecuadas, me ''resbale'' dos veces, pero afortunadamente no me lastime, y con la emocion que tenia de estar con nieve alrededor, simplemente me rei de mi misma!!

Beautiful snow!! What a glory to be there and enjoy it!! I can understand people saying they don't like it, but seeing it falling, ''dusting'' leaves, trees and branches, fresh, all white, so light and soft,  it's impossible for me to think that somebody can say it isn't pretty!!
La hermosa nieve!! Que glorioso es estar ahi y disfrutarla!! Puedo entender a la gente que dice que no le gusta, pero verla caer, ''espolvoreando'' hojas, arboles y ramas, fresca, toda blanquita, tan ligera y suave, es imposible para mi el pensar que haya alguien que diga que no es hermosa!!

I don't know if you can understand my ''fascination'' with snow, something so ''simple'' but that means so much to me!!
No se si pueden entender mi ''fascinacion'' con la nieve, algo tan ''simple'' pero que significa tanto para mi!!

Snow is a wonderful thing. Every time we have a new snowfall, I discover ''new ways'' to enjoy it even a little more!! Amazing to think that with all the snowflakes being different (no one is the same than other), they can create so much beauty together, giving some people so much delight!!
La nieve es algo maravilloso. Cada vez que tenemos una nueva nevada, descubro ''nuevas maneras'' de disfrutarla aun un poco mas!! Asombroso el pensar que todos los copos siendo diferentes (ningun copo es igual a otro), juntos pueden crear tanta belleza, dandonos a algunas personas tanto deleite!!
  

 

The creek is at the bottom, and as I wanted to take a closer picture, going down was my first skid!!
La quebrada esta abajo, y como queria tomar una foto mas de cerca, bajando fue mi primer resbalon!!

The closest I was able to go, didn't want to skid again and finish in the creek!!
Lo mas cerca que pude ir, no queria resbalarme de nuevo y terminar en la quebrada!!

Of course I was very happy, even more with the snow falling again!!
Por supuesto estaba dichosa, aun mas con la nieve cayendo de nuevo!!

And with that weather, I didn't invite John to go with me, I don't want him to wait for me siting  down in a bench covered by snow (just joking)!!
Y con ese clima, no invite a John a que fuera conmigo, no quiero que me espere sentado en una banca cubierta de nieve (es una broma)!!

Me encanta esta, la encuentro ''magica''!!

And at that moment I began my return home, enjoying the snow falling and the one on the floor!!
Y en ese momento comence a regresarme a casa, disfrutando de la nieve cayendo y de la que ya estaba en el suelo!!
 

I couldn't see it, and you neither, but at the exact moment I was taking this picture, a fish ''jumped'', I could hear it!!
No lo pude ver, y ustedes tampoco, pero en el exacto momento en que estaba tomando esta foto, un pez ''salto'', lo pude escuchar!!

Can you read it? Don't worry, me neither (LOL)!!
Lo pueden leer? No se preocupen, yo tampoco (jajaja)!!

My flash isn't powerful enough to be able to take a clearer picture of this tree, but you can see it anyway!!

Day or night, when the sunlight or the moonlight (or my flash!!) shine on it, makes everything so bright, so spectacular!!
This is the last one there from that night, and leaving the park was my second and last skid, took a little hill, and even I was walking carefully, found ice and that was it!!
En el dia o en la noche, cuando la luz del sol o de la luna (o de mi flash) brillan sobre ella, hace lucir todo tan  brillante, tan espectacular!!
Esta es la ultima de esa noche alli, y saliendo del parque fue mi segundo resbalon, tome una lomita, y aunque estaba caminando cuidadosamente, me encontre hielo y ahi cai!!
   

Close to home. Can you imagine how cold it was to be able to ''freeze'' the water coming down of the hood?
Cerca a casa. Se pueden imaginar como estaba de frio que pudo ''congelar'' el agua cayendo del capo?

First ones!! - Los primeros!!

A new week, and finally ..... some snow!!! I'm really happy, but today I'm not posting any pictures of our first snow of the season, but the first ones from our decorations, between others, enjoy them!!
Una nueva semana, y finalmente .... algo de nieve!!! Estoy dichosa, pero hoy no voy a bajar ninguna foto de la primera nevada de la temporada, pero si las primeras de nuestras decoraciones, entre otras, disfrutenlas!!

My ''first'' Christmas cards wreath!! The first card, the one with a family, are the Prime Minister and his family, that John received some years ago and we still have it!!
Mi ''primera'' corona con tarjetas de Navidad!! La primera tarjeta, con una familia, son el Primer Ministro y su familia, que John la recibio hace unos anos y aun la tenemos!!

Our Godson, James, celebrated his 13th. birthday last Saturday, but we just went yesterday (Sunday) to have dinner with them!!
Nuestro ahijado, James, que celebro su 13 cumpleanos el pasado sabado, pero nosotros apenas fuimos ayer (domingo) a cenar con ellos!!

My best Christmas gift, having him at home!!
Mi mejor regalo de Navidad, tenerlo en casa!!

Can you notice my happiness? Being able to enjoy the Holiday Season with him is one of the main reasons  to celebrate!!
Pueden notar mi felicidad? El poder celebrar con el la temporada Navidena es una de las razones principales para celebrar!!
