Churros!!

In 2010 John went to Spain to visit me, and being there he tried the ''churros'' and really liked them. Before coming back I got a ''churrera'' (the machine to prepare them) and just until Jan. 5th., 2014, I used it!! And here you have the results, not the prettiest ones (hopefully will do better with more experience!), but very yummy!!
En el 2010 John fue a Espana a visitarme, y estando alli probo los churros y le gustaron mucho. Antes de yo regresar consegui una churrera (la maquina para prepararlos) y solo hasta el 5 de Enero del 2014 la use!!
Y aqui tienen los resultados, no los mas hermosos (espero hacerlos mejor con mas experiencia!), pero deliciosos!!

John's plate. He didn't eat any more because they are a little ''crunchy'' and John's mouth is still a little sore, but anyway he liked them very much!!
El plato de John. No comio mas pues son algo ''crujientes'' y aun tiene su boca algo llagada, pero igual le encantaron!!

 And now my turn. So simple and so delicious!! Y ahora mi turno. Tan simples y tan deliciosos!!

And after we finish, I went out for some minutes to get a little of fresh air, and this is how the moon was looking, precious, isn't it?!!
Y luego de terminar, sali por unos minutos a tomar algo de aire fresco, y asi era como estaba luciendo la luna, preciosa, no?!!

Family!! - Familia!!

Have you ever think about how different our lives would be if we were born into another family?
I think that we are born into our particular family because they are the ones that will help us to grow, to evolve!! We need our family and friends in our lives, to learn whatever we need to learn from all of them. Thanks to them, we became the people we are!!
Anyway, we all are God's children, and that's the important thing!!
Han pensado alguna vez que tan diferentes serian nuestras vidas si hubieramos nacido en otra familia?
Yo creo que nacimos en nuestra familia en particular porque ellos son los que nos ayudan a crecer, a evolucionar!! Necesitamos a nuestra familia y amistades en nuestras vidas, para aprender lo que necesitemos aprender de ellos. Gracias a ellos, nos convertimos en las personas que somos!!
De todas formas, todos somos hijos de Dios, y eso es lo que importa!!

And now, as I wrote before, to continue with one of my ''resolutions'' for 2014, here you have some pictures I took today, Jan. 4th.
I went out to do something, and coming back home, came through Bear Creek park again, first time this year!! 
Y ahora, como ya les escribi, para continuar con una de mis ''resoluciones'' para el 2014, aqui tienen algunas fotos que tome hoy, 4 de Enero.
Sali a hacer algo, y regresando a casa, me vine cruzando el parque Quebrada del Oso de nuevo, la primera vez este ano!! 

No matter the season, no matter the weather, they are always enjoying there!! And me with them!!
No importa la estacion, no importa el clima, ellos siempre estan ahi disfrutando!! Y yo con ellos!!

Some of them come to spawn, and some of them to die where they were born. And this one, because of the size, seems had a long and hopefully, nice life!!
Algunos de ellos vienen a desovar, y algunos de ellos a morir donde nacieron. Y este, por el tamano, parece que tuvo una larga y esperemos, agradable vida!!

 A ''normal'' duck, but even I see this kind of duck frequently, I continue admiring their beauty and ''perfection'', look at that colors!!
Un pato ''normal'', pero aunque veo esta clase de pato frecuentemente, todavia admiro su belleza y ''perfeccion'', miren esos colores!!
 

It's kind of ''funny'' how males are so beautiful, and females, even pretty too, are less ''colorful''. But as with everything, there is a perfect explanation, once the female has her babies, she needs to be able to hide herself and her young too!!
Es algo ''simpatico'' lo hermosos que son los machos, y las hembras, aunque bonitas tambien, son menos ''coloridas''. Pero como con todo, hay una explicacion perfecta, una vez la hembra tiene sus bebes, necesita ser capaz de camuflarse y a sus bebes tambien!!
  

With its glossy green head, for sure it can call the attention of the females, and ours too!!
Con su cabeza verde brillante, seguro que puede llamar la atencion de las hembras, y la nuestra tambien!!

But females are so beautiful too!! If you can zoom the picture, do it, you'll be able to admire the feathers, the different tones, its grandiosity!!
Pero las hembras son tan hermosas tambien!! Si pueden agrandar la foto, haganlo, podran admirar sus plumas, los diferentes tonos, su grandiosidad!!
 

The mallards are the ancestors of several domestic breeds, and being so gorgeous, I can understand why some people want to have them ''adorning'' their backyards!!
Fortunately, I can enjoy them in a big park close to home!!
Los patos mallard son los ancestros de varias razas de patos domesticos, y siendo tan hermosos, puedo entender el por que algunas personas los quieren para ''adornar'' sus jardines!!
Afortunadamente, yo los puedo disfrutar en un gran parque cerca a casa!!

A gorgeous Winter afternoon!! And as you can see, I wasn't the only one enjoying it!! I didn't want them in the picture, but the colors were so ''perfect'' I decided to take it......
Una gloriosa tarde de invierno!! Y como pueden ver, no era la unica disfrutandola!! No los queria en la foto, pero los colores eran tan ''perfectos'' que decidi tomarla..... 

And I fortunately did it, because a couple of minutes later, look the difference!! Even this one is also nice, the colors are completely different!! 
Y afortunadamente lo hice, porque un par de minutos mas tarde, miren la diferencia!! Aunque esta tambien esta bonita, los colores son completamente diferentes!!

I was just leaving the park, thinking I didn't have any opportunity to take pictures of some little birds, and there they were!!
Ya estaba saliendo del parque, pensando que no habia tenido ninguna oportunidad de tomar fotos de pajaritos, y ahi estaban!!

They are very social, and usually live in colonies, but once the breeding season arrives, that's another story!!
Son muy sociables, y usualmente viven en colonias, pero una vez comienza la temporada de apareo, es otra historia!! 

Originally from England, now you can find them almost everywhere around the world, and today, here, I'm glad I was able to enjoy them!!
Originales de Inglaterra, ahora los podemos encontrar casi que en cualquier parte del mundo, y hoy, aqui, estoy feliz de haberlos podido disfrutar!!
 

Very diplomatic ones!! According to some studies, the sparrow family prefer to ''talk'' (through singing) more than having a physical ''fight''!!
Son muy diplomaticos!! De acuerdo con algunos estudios, la familia de los gorriones prefiere ''hablar'' (con sus cantos) mas que tener una ''pelea'' fisica!!

Celebrations!! - Celebraciones!!

Since Dec. 23rd. and until Christmas Day, we celebrated a birthday and had some dinners celebrating Christmas. It was a little ''too much'' for John, but he was able to enjoy everyone and everywhere!!
Desde Dic. 23 y hasta Navidad, celebramos un cumpleanos y algunas cenas de Navidad. Fue un poco ''demasiado'' para John, pero al menos pudo disfrutar de todos y en todas partes!!

Dec. 25th. Christmas Day!! After dinner with other friends, went to Jim's again, to celebrate Christmas with them. Didn't eat there, but brought everything and had it for dinner the next day!!
Dic. 25, Navidad!! Luego de cenar con otros amigos, fuimos donde Jim de nuevo, para celebrar con ellos la Navidad. No cenamos alli, pero nos trajimos todo y lo cenamos al dia siguiente!!

I did it!!! - Lo logre!!!

Dec. 23rd. I finished with all the Christmas decorations, I accomplished it before Christmas and that's the important thing!! And that you're seeing them just until now isn't that important, you're seeing them now and if you want to copy something, you can do it for next Christmas!!
Hope you'll enjoy all of them as much as we are, more for me making some of them, and hanging them too!!
Dic. 23 termine con mis decoraciones navidenas, lo logre antes de Navidad y eso es lo que importa!! Y que ustedes apenas les esten viendo no es tan importante, ya les pueden ver y si quieren copiar algo, lo pueden hacer para la proxima Navidad!!
Espero que les disfruten tanto como nosotros lo estamos haciendo, y mas para mi que hice varios de ellos, y tambien los colge!!

It took me some days to finish them, but after finishing the 3 of them, I'm feeling very proud!! Don't know what you think, but I think they are gorgeous, the first ''real wreaths'' I have made in my life!!
Me tomo algunos dias terminarles, pero luego de terminar con las 3, me siento orgullosa!! No se que piensen, pero yo creo que son preciosas, las primeras ''coronas reales'' que he hecho en mi vida!! 

And even I like all of them, the smaller one is my favorite!!
Y aunque todas me encantan, la mas pequena es mi favorita!!

Now I'm planning to go and pick some more pine cones up, for next Christmas!!
Ya estoy planeando ir a recoger mas pinas de pino, para la proxima Navidad!!

I was telling John how incredible it's that just 3 wreaths can make so much for a room, once I hanged them, our living room looked completely different, more vibrant, more ''ready for Christmas''!!
Le decia a John que increible es que 3 coronas puedan hacer tanto por un cuarto, una vez las colge, nuestro salon luce completamente diferente, mas vibrante, mas ''listo para Navidad''!!
 

And now a ''full view'' of that window. The beautiful wreaths, the nativities, the snowmen family, and of course, my laptop that I keep there!!

Better and better!! - Mejor y mejor!!

Closer we are to Christmas, more wonderful things are happening!! For my delight, last Friday we had snow again, and this time, more than the last one!!
I came back to Bear Creek park, but before going there I went to a little park near by, and with these pictures I invite all of you to enjoy with me the snow, the parks, the birds, the season, everything and everyone!!
Mas cerca de Navidad, mas cosas grandiosas estan sucediendo!! Para mi deleite, el pasado viernes tuvimos nieve de nuevo, y esta vez, mas que la anterior!!
Regrese al parque Quebrada del Oso, pero antes de ir alli fui a un parquecito cerca, y con estas fotos los  invito a todos a que disfruten conmigo la nieve, los parques, las aves, la estacion, todo y a  todos!!

A couple of solar lights we have outside. They weren't receiving to much sun that morning!!
Un par de luces solares que tenemos afuera. No estaban recibiendo mucho sol esa manana!!

What a beautiful scenario, at least for me!! And just imagine how great I was feeling at that moment, like a ''pioneer'' being the first person walking on that so fresh, "virgin'' snow!!

Einstein said that looking deep into nature, will help us to understand everything better. And I feel amaze thinking that if the birds don't have seeds to eat, they have this little fruits to feed themselves from!!
Y ahora, parque Quebrada del Oso de nuevo!!
Einstein dijo que observando profundamente la naturaleza, nos ayudara a entender todo mejor. Y yo me maravillo pensando que si los pajaros no tienen semillas para comer, tienen estas fruticas para alimentarse!!
  

And just minutes after entering the park, little birds around!!
Y apenas unos minutos luego de entrar al parque, pajaritos alrededor!!

I'm very glad they were ''distracted'' with the seeds, and also having a zoom in my camera, to be able to ''capture'' them before they flew because I was going too close!!
Que afortunada soy que estaban ''distraidos'' con las semillas, y tambien de tener zoom en mi camara, para poder ''capturarlos'' antes de que volaran porque yo me estaba acercando mucho!!
  

It can seems ''easy'' but lately I'm discovering more and more that to take pictures of animals, like this bird, isn't easy, I need to be patient and wait for the perfect moment when they aren't moving, to be able to take a picture like this one!!
Puede parecer ''facil'' pero ultimamente estoy descubriendo mas y mas que tomar fotos de animales, como este pajaro, no es facil, necesito ser paciente y esperar por el momento perfecto cuando no se esten moviendo, para poder tomar una foto como esta!!

And of course, I take, and take, and take pictures, with the hope that some of them will be great!!!
And this time, I was rewarded with a better view of its face!!
Y por supuesto, tomo, y tomo, y tomo fotos, con la esperanza de que algunas de ellas saldran grandiosas!! Y en esta oportunidad, fui recompensada con una donde se puede ver mejor su cara!!
  

I wish all of us could feel as this little bird, very ''content'' with everything nature offers us!!
Ojala todos nos sintieramos como este pajarito, bien ''satisfechos'' con todo lo que la naturaleza nos ofrece!!

You can be sure the snow isn't thinking ''let's create a beauty'', but for sure it does!!
Pueden estar seguros que la nieve no esta pensando ''vamos a crear una belleza'', pero seguro que lo hace!!

Were these ducks!! Eran estos patos!!

I was astonish with so many ducks around, kind of never expected them to be enjoying the snow!!
Estaba asombrada con tantos patos alrededor, como que nunca me espere que ellos disfrutaran la nieve!!

They were happy being there, and I was also happy being there. It's great to think that even a  short and  ''simple'' moment like this one, can make our day brighter and fill it with joy!!
Ellos estaban felices ahi, yo tambien estaba feliz de estar ahi. Es grandioso pensar que aun un momento corto y ''simple'' como este, puede iluminar nuestro dia y llenarlo de gozo!!
   

At moments as special as this one, I just marvel with the sound of the water, the ducks quacking, the sounds and ''beauty'' of the moment!!
En momentos tan especiales como este, me maravillo con el sonido del agua, los patos cloqueando, los sonidos y la ''belleza'' del momento!!
  

Yes, after a little while walking in the snow I'm physically tired, but the rest of things that being there bring to my life, give me strength for me to continue walking and feel great inside!!
Si, luego de caminar un rato en la nieve me canso fisicamente, pero el resto de cosas que el estar alli brinda a mi vida, me da fuerzas para continuar caminando y sentirme dichosa!!
  

Do you remember the entry to ''Winter Wonderland''? Here it's again, earlier and with more daylight!! Love the pine!!
Se acuerdan de la entrada a ''La tierra maravillosa de invierno''? Aqui la tienen de nuevo, mas temprano y con mas luz de dia!! Adoro el pino!!

It can sounds a little ''silly'', but being there and able to take pictures like this one, are blessings I'm very grateful for!! This little bird was gone after some seconds, but I was there at the right moment, to ''immortalize'' it in my picture!!
Puede sonar un poco ''tonto'', pero el estar alli y poder tomar fotos como esta, son bendiciones por las que estoy muy agradecida!! Este pajarito se fue luego de unos segundos, pero yo estuve alli en el momento adecuado, para ''inmortalizarlo'' en la foto!!
  

Cold water, snow around, gorgeous scenarios, but I was feeling as great as if the sunshine was shining inside me!!
El agua fria, nieve alrededor, escenarios grandiosos, pero yo me sentia tan bien como si el sol estaba brillando dentro de mi!!
 

How not to be amazed with something like this? There was no branch or anything to stop the snow from falling, but it was there, to call my attention!!
Como no maravillarse con algo como esto?  No habia rama o nada que detuviera la nieve de caerse, pero ahi estaba, para llamar mi atencion!!

And what about this one? Even bigger!! Y que hay de esta? Aun mas grande!!

I don't know if they are enjoying as much as me, but for sure look like they are having a great time too!!
No se si estaban disfrutando tanto como yo, pero seguro que lucen como que tambien la estan pasando genial!!

I don't need a big Christmas tree at home, having all of these around ..... and with natural snow!!
No necesito un gran arbol de Navidad en casa, teniendo todos estos alrededor .... y con nieve natural!!

Have you ever think that Winter is the season we finish the year with, but also the season we begin a new year with?
Han pensado alguna vez que el invierno es la estacion con la que terminamos el ano, pero tambien la estacion con la que comenzamos un nuevo ano?

Wherever I was looking, I was discovering something marvelous, like these pine cones!!
A donde mirara, estaba descubriendo cosas maravillosas, como estas pinas de pino!!
 

We, like snowflakes, are unique and marvelous!!
Nosotros, como los copos de nieve, somos unicos y maravillosos!!

Winter is a magic season, let's discover its magic everywhere!!
Invierno es una estacion magica, descubramos su magia por todos lados!!

Think of the very tiny snowflakes making this path to look so ''clean and fresh'', so inviting, like offering us the promise of an enjoyable experience!! And you can be sure I had a wonderful experience!!
Piensen en los copos de nieve miniatura que hacen de este camino lucir tan ''limpio y fresco'', tan invitante, como ofreciendonos la promesa de una agradable experiencia!! Y pueden estar seguros que tuve una experiencia formidable!!
 

I'm very grateful with the people who works there, because they feed the animals .... giving me opportunities to take pictures of them when eating!!
Estoy muy agradecida con la gente que trabaja alli, porque alimentan a los animales .... dandome mas oportunidades de tomarles fotos mientras comen!!

After a little more than one hour and a half walking around, it's time to come back home, giving thanks to God for allowing me to enjoy part of His masterpiece!!
Luego de un poco mas de hora y media caminando alrededor, es hora de regresar a casa, dando gracias a Dios por permitirme disfrutar parte de su obra maestra!!
