Between ceremonies and parties!! - Entre ceremonias y fiestas!!

This post has pictures of the different ceremonies and parties I have had lately, hope you enjoy them as much as I did being part of all of them!!
Esta tanda tiene fotos de diferentes ceremonias y fiestas que he tenido ultimamente, espero las disfruten tanto como yo siendo parte de todas ellas!!

During the oath. We were repeating it after the judge, in English and in French too. Very, very emotional!!
Durante el juramento. Nosotros repetimos lo que la jueza iba diciendo, en Ingles y en Frances tambien. Muy, muy emocionante!! 

Already a Canadian Citizen, what an honour, that thanks to God and to John too, I was able to accomplish!!
Ya ciudadana Canadiense, que honor, que gracias a Dios y a John tambien, pude conseguir!!

Got the cake from Costco, but I decorated it, the best ``Canadian Flag`` I was able to do!!
Consegui el pastel en Costco, pero yo lo decore, la mejor ``bandera Canadiense`` que fui capaz de hacer!!

The following weekend, a long one, we had different celebrations for Sapna, my landlord`s only daughter who will get married next July, in India.
Saturday morning, prayers at their temple. And me wearing a ``tipical dress.``
El siguiente fin de semana, uno de puente, tuvimos varias celebraciones para Sapna, la unica hija de los duenos de la casa que se casara el proximo Julio, en la India.
Sabado en la manana, oraciones en el templo de ellos. Y yo vistiendo uno de sus ``vestidos tipicos.``

More flowers!! - Mas flores!!

As you know I had my Citizenship ceremony last May 5th., and some days later Lula gave me a hibiscus plant full of buds that now I'm enjoying seeing them opening, and enjoying the ones around too, because officially it's still SPRING!!
Como ya saben tuve mi ceremonia de ciudadania el pasado 5 de Mayo, y unos dias despues Lula me regalo una planta de San Joaquin llena de botones que ahora estoy disfrutando viendo como se van abriendo, y disfrutando las que hay alrededor tambien, pues oficialmente aun es PRIMAVERA!!

It came with just 1 flower completely open, the rest were buds. It was open for maybe 2 days, but more continue opening and I have had even 5 of them open at the same time!!
Vino con una sola flor abierta, el resto en capullos. Se abrio por unos 2 dias, pero mas continuaron abriendose y he tenido 5 de ellas abiertas al mismo tiempo!!

Did you know that the hibiscus is commonly known in Asia as the shoe flower? Yes, it's used to polish shoes!!! Now you know.
Sabian que el San Joaquin es comunmente conocido en Asia como la flor zapato? Si, se usa para brillar zapatos!!! Ahora ya lo saben.

This is a bud, that opens and close slowly, but of course when opening or closing you can notice the difference!!
Este es un capullo, que se abre y cierra lentamente, pero por supuesto cuando se esta abriendo o cerrando se puede notar la diferencia!!

Another interesting fact, they do not have any scent!!
Otro dato interesante, no tienen olor!!

Irises are the sacred flowers for Iris the Greek goddess, the messenger of love. And how not to love such pretty flowers?
Los irises son la flores sagradas de Iris la diosa Griega, la mensajera del amor. Y como no amar estas hermosas flores?

Did you know that chives come from this plant? Now you know!! I just knew this year, that the woman from the couple who lives at the marina told and gave me some!!
Sabian que la cebollina viene de esta planta? Ahora ya lo saben!! Yo lo vine a saber este ano, que la mujer de la pareja que vive en la marina me lo dijo y me dio algunas!!

It is sad that they have such a short life, less than 3 days!! But I still have some buds opening, and after that, we all can continue enjoying them in the pictures!!
Es una lastima que tengan una vida tan corta, menos de 3 dias!! Pero aun tengo mas capullos abriendose, y luego, todos podemos continuar disfrutandolas en las fotos!!

I don't know about you, but to me this couple roses look so sensual, so voluptuous, so seductive!!
No se para ustedes, pero para mi este par de rosas lucen tan sensuales, tan voluptuosas, tan seductoras!!

A lot of similar ones, but how not to be fascinated with such a beauty?
Muchas muy similares, pero como no estar fascinada con tanta belleza?

Years ago I used to prefer film cameras over digital ones, now I'm grateful for the digital ones, I can take as many pictures as I want ..... and leave just the ones I like, this one between them!!
Hace muchos anos preferia las camaras de rollo sobre las digitales, ahora estoy agradecida por las digitales, puedo tomar tantas fotos como quiera ..... y dejar solo las que me gustan, esta entre ellas!!

And lately, with a very nice weather, peonies are opening everywhere!!

Another new and exotic one.

Otra nueva y exotica.

This poppy is from a garden 2 houses from mine, but when they are opening, it is impossible not to notice them with its brilliant colors!!
Esta amapola es de un jardin 2 casas mas alla de la mia, pero cuando estan abriendose, es imposible no notarlas con sus colores tan brillantes!!

Its seeds are also widely use for cooking purposes, just think of a poppy seed cake!! And no, I won't use these ones, I can get them at the supermarket!!
Sus semillas tambien son usadas frecuentemente con propositos culinarios, simplemente piensen en un bizcocho con semillas de amapola!! Y no, no usaria estas, las puedo conseguir en el supermercado!!

Not this kind, but from another one from the same family, they use the seedpods to get opium (that can be used to produce morphine, used to alleviate massive pain), but also to produce heroin, an illegal drug!!
No esta clase, pero otra de la misma familia, usan las semillas para conseguir opio (que puede usarse para producir morfina, usada para aliviar dolores muy fuertes), pero tambien para producir heroina, una droga ilegal!!
 

Ants not only like peonies, it seems they enjoy these ones too!!
A las hormigas no solo le gustan las peonias, parece que estas tambien!!

Ants and peonies, incredible to see them when the peonies are opening, and fortunately, without causing any damage!!
Hormigas y peonias, increible verlas cuando las peonias se estan abriendo, y afortunadamente, sin causar ningun dano!!

Between flowers and birds!! - Entre flores y pajaros!!

Some days before my citizenship oath I got these tulips, that even with some yellow, were mainly red and white, the colors I wanted!!
Algunos dias antes de mi juramento de ciudadania consegui estos tulipanes, que aunque con algo de amarillo, eran mas blancos y rojos, los colores que queria!!

And my favorite flowers anyway!!
Y de todas formas, mis flores favoritas!!

I'm sure I'll never get tired of their beauty!!
Estoy segura que nunca me cansare de su belleza!!
 

It is said that flowers feed the soul, and I have no difficulty in believing this!!
Se dice que las flores son el alimento del alma, y yo no tengo dificultad alguna en creermelo!!

After a couple of days their flower heads open and is then when we can enjoy a beautiful sight like this one!!
Luego de un par de dias se abren y es entonces cuando podemos disfrutar de una hermosa vision como esta!!
 

The delight they give me is surely wonderful!!
El deleite que me dan seguro que es maravilloso!!

And now the roses, 12 red, 12 white, a gift from my Landlord's family!! They had them for me the day of my citizenship oath!!
Y ahora las rosas, 12 rojas, 12 blancas, un regalo de la familia duena de la casa!! Ellos me las tenian el dia de mi juramento de ciudadania!!

There is so much beauty in flowers, I just need to post my pictures and hope all of you will see it!!
Hay tanta belleza en las flores, yo solo necesito bajar mis fotos y esperar que todos ustedes la puedan ver!!

And these ones, the first 2 dozens, are getting dried, will use the petals for a potpourri!!

They are really pretty as well, love the red ones that look like velvet!!
Estas tambien son muy bonitas, adoro las rojas que parecen de terciopelo!!

These ones are also drying now, but the whole roses, not the petals!!
Estas tambien se estan secando ahora, pero las rosas completas, no los petalos!!

And here I finish with the roses, hope you enjoy them as I did having them beautifing my place!!

Ahora, algunos pajaros que aunque "comunes", no los veo mucho y por supuesto, no puedo tomarles fotos muy frecuentemente!!

A Steller's Jay, that after my citizenship oath, when they gave me a book about Canada, I learned this is the symbolic bird of British Columbia!!
Un arrendajo azul o urraca azul, que luego de mi juramento de ciudadania, cuando me dieron un libro sobre Canada, descubri que es el pajaro simbolo de Columbia Britanica!!

I think is a juvenile American Robin, but I'm not completely sure. Anyway, a beautiful bird!!
Creo que es un pechirojo americano juvenil, pero no estoy completamente segura. De todas formas, un hermoso pajaro!!
