Finally ... the bird sanctuary!! - Finalmente ... el santuario de pajaros!!

Now, after some days writing about them, here you have the pictures of the sanctuary!! Being there was an spectacular experience, hopefully we'll be able to come back later this year to enjoy even more with some new species!!

Just arriving, even before entering the park, parents and babies like this gosling, were waiting for us!!

Welcome, welcome, what a warm welcoming from these goslings!!!

Year after year, geese come back to the same point were they were born, using the same migratory route ... that they learn from their parents!! Hopefully these three will be there next year!!

But here, with a nice weather and plenty of food, most of them stay, they don't need to migrate!!

''What are you doing? Come here with me!!'' ''Que estan haciendo? Vengan aqui conmigo''

A young goose, cute but not very pretty!!

Geese normally have 5 goslings, this group must have some ''cousins''!!

''Here is the other adult, now we can go!!'' (Picture below)

Marsh wren, a beautiful and colorful one!!

And they know very well when somebody enters the park with food (seeds)!!

John feeding geese and cranes at the entry of the park!!

Second time in John's life that he can enjoy observing a crane close by!! First time for me!

I'm sure they enjoy being here, with most of the visitors feeding them!!

''What a great sensation!!'' ''Que sensacion tan grandiosa!!''

''And now I feel good and pretty again!!'' ''Y ahora me siento bien y hermosa(o) de nuevo!!''

''Let's go, more visitors are waiting to feed us!'' ''Vamos, mas visitantes estan esperando para alimentarnos!''

And John and I continued our visit, to discover more families, like this mama duck and her ducklings!!

Aren't they cute? for sure they inspire beautiful feelings in me!!
No son preciosos? A mi seguro me inspiran sentimientos hermosos!!

How not to feel ''touched'' by these little ducklings?

And after a lot of insisting, John accepted to feed them from his hand!!

View from a tower, and this is just a little part of the sanctuary!!

And meanwhile I was enjoying taking pictures from the tower, John was enjoying resting for a little while!!

Another view from the tower. The ''space'' between the last darker line and the mountains is the ocean!!
Going down and both of us happy, John resting and me enjoying taking pictures from the tower!!

Do you remember the red-winged blackbird from the other place we went some weeks ago?, here is another one!!

Lovely ''green tunnel.'' Encantador ''tunel verde.''

In another resting area, enjoying the view and eating some snacks!!

And now my turn!! Y ahora mi turno!!

I'm pretty sure the birds cannot avoid feeling attracted by these provocative little fruits!!

And of course, insects as this caterpillar as well!! And this one is one of my favorites from that day!!

Male Swallow. More ''picturesque'' than the females.
Gorrion macho. Mas ''pintoresco'' que las hembras.

Such a peaceful and beautiful male Mallard!! Tan pacifico y hermoso pato Mallard (macho).

Females Mallards. Do you wanna go and swim with them? I do!! Hembras Mallard. Quieren ir a nadar con ellas? Yo si!!

Little and noisy woodpecker!! Pequeno y ruidoso pajaro carpintero!!

One of the channels of the sanctuary. The closest long log had 5 ducks on top before I took this picture!!

John feeding birds again!! John de nuevo dandoles de comer a algunas aves!!

Another Mallard. A lot of them in this park!! Otro pato Mallard. Muchos en este santuario!!

And another female, coming probably for food!! Y otra pata, acercandose probablemente buscando comida!!

''Where are you going? Come, come here and feed us!!'' ''Donde van? Vengan, vengan a alimentarnos!!''

Tree Swallow, another one to enjoy!! Gorrion de arbol, otro para disfrutar!!

''Mommy, mommy, some humans are coming!!'' ''Mami, mami, vienen unos humanos!!''

''Don't worry, mommy is here to protect you!!''

A female Swallow. And even is very common, what a graceful one!! Una gorrion hembra. Y aunque bastante comun, que hermosa es!!

Cranes. Found on all continents but Antarctica and South America!!

Cranes are the tallest flying birds in the world!! Should be a total show to see them flying!!

Love this picture!!!! And I was reading that the red in the head aren't feathers, is skin!!!! (And yes, I went to look the magnified picture!!)

Another of my favorites!! Took it with the new camara. John saw the bee, I just saw a ''black dot'' but took the picture with zoom and once downloaded to my laptop, the bee is very clear!!

''OK children, wait there that mommy will go and look what they want''
''OK ninos, esperen aqui que mama ira a ver que quieren''

I just want a picture like this one, with the ducklings!!

''Don't worry mom, she just took a picture of us!!''

And anyway, seems that ''dad'' is close by too!!

Sometime ago we saw one in Bear Creek Park, and here again, a beautiful wood duck!!

Just perfect!! And the reflection in the water is great!! Perfecto!!

''Don't worry my dears, they are just observing us through the bush!!''

Just enjoying some sunshine!! Simplemente disfrutando de algo de sol!!

Do you know that their feathers are impermeable? Saben que sus plumas son impermeables?

And almost ready to leave, this gosling is there to tell us: ''Goodbye, hope to see you again soon!!''
But hopefully in an older ''stage'' than these ones, cute as I mentioned before, but in one of their ''not so pretty'' stages!!

The one in front: ''Let's go to say goodbye, they are leaving!!''
The other two: ''Wait, we are accommodating some feathers!!''

And here I end this posting, hoping you enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed being there and taking them!!
