More June's flowers!! - Mas flores de Junio!!

Last hours of June 2013, last day of the first 6 months of this year!!, and to post all June pictures, I decided to go with some collages, hopefully you'll enjoy them!!
Ultimas horas de Junio 2013, ultimo dia de los 6 primeros meses de este ano!!, y para bajar todas las fotos de Junio, decidi hacerlo con algunos collages, espero los disfruten!!

Do you remember the pink-purple ones from the shopping mall?, same place, different colors!!
Se acuerdan de las rosadas-moradas del centro comercial?, mismo lugar, colores diferentes!!

Don't know if it is a wild flower, saw it in a bush, but something I know for sure is that they are very pretty flowers!!
No se si es una flor silvestre, la vi en un matorral, pero algo que si se seguro es que son unas flores muy hermosas!!

Some days ago John gave me these beautiful flowers, and even I enjoy a lot the flowers in their plants, also love to have some at home, and more when John is the one who gave them to me!!
Hace algunos dias John me dio estas hermosas flores, y aunque disfruto mucho las flores en su mata, tambien adoro tener flores en casa, mas cuando es John quien me las ha dado!!

And the roses are blooming now, these ones are from the front yard.
Y las rosas estan floreciendo ahora, estas son del jardin del frente.

We need to enjoy Spring and all the flowers around, because somehow, they remind us that nature still has hope in humanity!!
Necesitamos disfrutar la Primavera y todas las flores alrededor, porque de alguna forma, nos recuerdan que la naturaleza aun tiene esperanza en la humanidad!!

Father's day, at Jim's and family!! Laura (Jim's mom), James (Jim's son and our Godson), Jim, Kathy, John, and of course, Lucy, the family dog!! The ''light house'' was one of the gifts Jim received. And the ones on the side: John, Jim & John enjoying some ''men'' time, James playing with a cell.  
Dia del padre, con Jim y su familia!! Laura (la mama de Jim), James (hijo de Jim y nuestro ahijado), Jim, Kathy, John, y por supuesto, Lucy, la perra de la familia!! El ''faro'' fue uno de los regalos que Jim recibio. Y las fotos del lado: John, Jim y John disfrutando un momento de ''hombres'', James jugando con un celular.

They have a beautiful garden, full of different flowers, like these ones!!
Tienen un jardin hermoso, lleno de flores diferentes, como estas!!

And these ones too, that I love, a masterpiece!!
Y estas tambien, que las adoro, una obra maestra!!

One of my favorites, how not to be ''touched'' for such an spectacular flower?!! 

Una de mis favoritas, como no sentirse ''tocado'' con una flor tan espectacular?!!

And look at these ones, look at their buds!! Sometimes I marvel about how something so precious can ''flourish'' from that little buds!!
Y miren estas, miren sus capullos!! Algunas veces me maravillo de como algo tan precioso puede ''florecer'' de esos pequenos capullos!! 

And to finish with June's pictures, here you have this exquisite flower!! But before finishing with this post, let's be thankful remembering all the benefits we have from flowers, they can feed us, they can provide ''ingredients'' for different medicines, they can help us to ''heal'' our souls, our spirits, they can bright our days, our lives, they can do so much for us!!! They are really beneficial to mankind!!

Pero antes de terminar con esta tanda, demos gracias recordando todos los beneficios que tenemos por parte de las flores, nos pueden alimentar, pueden darnos ''ingredientes'' para diferentes medicinas, pueden ayudarnos a ''sanar'' nuestras almas, nuestros espiritus, pueden iluminar nuestros dias, nuestras vidas, pueden hacer tanto por nosotros!!! Son realmente beneficiosas para toda la humanidad!!   

And now, John's favorites!! - Y ahora, las favoritas de John!!

I suppose by now you all know that tulips are my favorite flowers, even I love most of the flowers!! But for John, tiger lilies are the favorites, and now is the time to enjoy them. And the tiger lilies I'm posting are from our front garden!!
Supongo que para estas fechas ya saben que los tulipanes son mis flores favoritas, aunque me encantan la mayoria de las flores!! Pero para John, los lirios tigre son sus favoritos, y ahora es el momento para disfrutarlos. Y las fotos de los lirios tigres que estoy bajando son de nuestro jardin del frente!!

Do you want a beautiful flower that could outlived you? Peonies can live to be 100 and still produce flowers!! Quieren una hermosa flor que podria sobrevivirles? Las peonias pueden vivir hasta 100 anos y aun producir flores!!

In ancient days, was a symbol of happiness, luck and wealth. And they symbolize that to me, happiness from enjoying them, lucky to be able to have them here, and wealthy having these beauties close by!!
En la antiguedad, eran simbolo de felicidad, suerte y riqueza. Y eso simbolizan para mi, felicidad de poderlas disfrutar, suerte de poderlas tener aqui, y la riqueza de poder tenerlas cerca!!

And now it's a beautiful flower that symbolizes a lot of different things for different cultures. In China, they symbolize friendship, good luck, feminine beauty, and elegance as well, and looking at the flower, I completely agree with them!!
Y ahora es una hermosa flor que simboliza muchas cosas diferentes para diferentes culturas. En China, simbolizan amistad, buena suerte, belleza femenina, y tambien elegancia, y observando la flor, estoy completamente de acuerdo con ellos!! 

And even with all the symbolism they have, I'm just happy to be able to enjoy them!!
Y aun con todo el simbolismo que tienen, yo simplemente me siento feliz de poderlas disfrutar!!

 And here you have the tiger lily!! Y aqui tienen el lirio tigre!!

There is an old legend from Asia about the tiger lily. A Korean hermit helped a wounded tiger by removing an arrow from its body. The tiger asked the hermit to use his powers to perpetuate their friendship after his dead.The hermit agreed and when the tiger died, his body became a tiger lily. Eventually the hermit drowned and his body was washed away. That's why the tiger lily spread everywhere searching for its friend.
Hay una antigua leyenda en Asia acerca del lirio tigre. Un ermitano coreano ayudo al tigre herido sacandole una flecha que tenia en su cuerpo. El tigre le pidio al ermitano que usara sus poderes para perpetuar su amistad luego de su muerte. El ermitano accedio y cuando el tigre murio, su cuerpo se convirtio en un lirio tigre. Eventualmente el ermitano se ahogo y su cuerpo se lo llevo la corriente. Es por esta razon que el lirio tigre se esparce por todas partes buscando a su amigo. 
  

Many parts of the flower are edible, but I really don't want to try them!!
Muchas partes de la flor son comestibles, pero yo realmente no quiero probarlas!!

Another color, another one from the peony's family!! This is from the neighbor's garden.
Otro color, otra clase de la familia de las peonias!! Esta es del jardin del vecino.  

Finally ... the bird sanctuary!! - Finalmente ... el santuario de pajaros!!

Now, after some days writing about them, here you have the pictures of the sanctuary!! Being there was an spectacular experience, hopefully we'll be able to come back later this year to enjoy even more with some new species!!
Ahora, luego de varios dias despues de estar escribiendo sobre ellas, aqui tienen las fotos del santuario!!
El estar alli fue una experiencia espectacular, esperamos poder regresar mas tarde este ano para disfrutar aun mas con algunas nuevas especies!!

 Just arriving, even before entering the park, parents and babies like this gosling, were waiting for us!!
Acabando de llegar, aun antes de entrar al parque, padres y bebes como este gansito, estaban esperandonos!!

Welcome, welcome, what a warm welcoming from these goslings!!!
Bienvenidos, bienvenidos, que calurosa bienvenida por parte de estos gansitos!!

 Year after year, geese come back to the same point were they were born, using the same migratory route ... that they learn from their parents!! Hopefully these three will be there next year!!
Ano tras ano, los gansos regresan al mismo lugar donde nacieron, usando la misma ruta migratoria .... que aprenden de sus padres!! Esperemos que estos tres esten alli el proximo ano!!

But here, with a nice weather and plenty of food, most of them stay, they don't need to migrate!!
Pero aqui, con buen clima y mucha comida, la mayoria se queda, no necesitan migrar!!

 A young goose, cute but not very pretty!! Un ganso joven, adorable pero no muy hermoso!!
 

Geese normally have 5 goslings, this group must have some ''cousins''!!
Los gansos normalmente tienen 5 gansitos, este grupo debe tener algunos ''primos''!!

 Marsh wren, a beautiful and colorful one!!
Un reyezuelo de la marisma, hermoso y colorido!!

 And they know very well when somebody enters the park with food (seeds)!! Y saben muy bien cuando alguien entra al parque con comida (semillas)!!

 Second time in John's life that he can enjoy observing a crane close by!! First time for me!
Segunda vez en su vida que John puede disfrutar observando esta clase de grulla de cerca!! Primera vez para mi!

I'm sure they enjoy being here, with most of the visitors feeding them!!
Estoy segura que disfrutan el estar aqui, con la mayoria de visitantes alimentandoles!!

And John and I continued our visit, to discover more families, like this mama duck and her ducklings!!
Y John y yo continuamos nuestra visita, para descubrir mas familias, como esta mama pata y sus paticos!!

 Aren't they cute? for sure they inspire beautiful feelings in me!!
No son preciosos? A mi seguro me inspiran sentimientos hermosos!!

How not to feel ''touched'' by these little ducklings? Como no sentirse ''emocionado'' con estos pequenos paticos?

 And after a lot of insisting, John accepted to feed them from his hand!!
Y luego de mucha insistencia, John acepto alimentarlos de su mano!!

View from a tower, and this is just a little part of the sanctuary!! Vista desde una torre, y esta es solo una pequena parte del santuario!!

And meanwhile I was enjoying taking pictures from the tower, John was enjoying resting for a little while!!
Y mientras yo disfrutaba tomando fotos desde la torre, John disfrutaba descansando por un rato!!

I'm pretty sure the birds cannot avoid feeling attracted by these provocative little fruits!!
Estoy segura que los pajaros no pueden evitar sentirse atraidos por estas provocativas y pequenas frutas!!

And of course, insects as this caterpillar as well!! And this one is one of my favorites from that day!!
Y por supuesto, insectos como este cienpies tambien!! Y esta foto es una de mis favoritas de este dia!!

Such a peaceful and beautiful male Mallard!! Tan pacifico y hermoso pato Mallard (macho).

Females Mallards. Do you wanna go and swim with them? I do!! Hembras Mallard. Quieren ir a nadar con ellas? Yo si!!

Little and noisy woodpecker!! Pequeno y ruidoso pajaro carpintero!!

Tree Swallow, another one to enjoy!! Gorrion de arbol, otro para disfrutar!!

Cranes. Found on all continents but Antarctica and South America!!
Una especia de garzas. Se encuentran en todos los continentes excepto Antartica y Sur America!!

Cranes are the tallest flying birds in the world!! Should be a total show to see them flying!!
Son los pajaros voladores mas altos en todo el mundo!! Debe ser todo un show verles volando!!

Love this picture!!!! And I was reading that the red in the head aren't feathers, is skin!!!! (And yes, I went to look the magnified picture!!)
Adoro esta foto!! Y estaba leyendo que el rojo en su cabeza no son plumas, es piel!!!! (Y si, fui a mirar la foto aumentada!!)

Another of my favorites!! Took it with the new camara. John saw the bee, I just saw a ''black dot'' but took the picture with zoom and once downloaded to my laptop, the bee is very clear!!
Otra de mis favoritas!! La tome con mi nueva camara. John vio la abispa, yo solo vi un ''punto negro'' pero tome la foto con aumento y una vez la baje a mi laptop, la abeja se ve bien clara!!

And anyway, seems that ''dad'' is close by too!! Y de todas formas, parece que ''papa'' esta cerca tambien!!

Sometime ago we saw one in Bear Creek Park, and here again, a beautiful wood duck!!
Hace algun tiempo vimos uno en el Parque Quebrada del oso, y aqui de nuevo, un hermoso pato madera!!

Just perfect!! And the reflection in the water is great!! Perfecto!! Y el reflejo en el agua es grandioso!!

Just enjoying some sunshine!! Simplemente disfrutando de algo de sol!!

Do you know that their feathers are impermeable? Saben que sus plumas son impermeables?

And almost ready to leave, this gosling is there to tell us: ''Goodbye, hope to see you again soon!!''
Y casi listos para partir, este gansito esta ahi para decirnos: ''Hasta pronto, espero verlos pronto de nuevo!!''  

But hopefully in an older ''stage'' than these ones, cute as I mentioned before, but in one of their ''not so pretty'' stages!! Pero ojala de mas ''edad'' que estos, adorables como mencione antes, pero en una de las ''no muy hermosos'' etapas!!
