Mushrooms!! - Hongos!!

Remember I mentioned was planning to post some pictures of more amazing mushrooms? Here you have them!!
Recuerdan que mencioné que estaba planeando bajar algunas fotos de más hongos asombrosos? Aquí los tienen!!

I was fascinated looking at them, but get the ones I want to eat from the supermarket, because as the saying says "All mushrooms are edible, but some just once!"
Estaba fascinada viéndoles, pero consigo los que quiero comer en el supermercado, porque como dice el dicho "Todos los hongos son comestibles, pero algunos sólo una vez!"
 

And they are so pretty, that they are probably very poisonous as well!!
Y son tan hermosos, que probablemente son muy venenosos también!!

An Amanita muscaria, that has the ability to paralyze the insects that enter in contact with it!!
Un Amanita muscaria, que tiene la habilidad de paralizar los insectos que entren en contacto con él!!
 

Although classified as poisonous, isn't considered lethal. It's also noted for its hallucinogenic properties!!
Aunque clasificado como venenoso, no se considera letal. También es notorio por sus propiedades alucinógenas!!
   

And yes, after careful and specific procedures (that I'm not planning to try!!!), they can be eat.  Russians and Scandinavians enjoy them a lot!!!
Y sí, luego de procedimientos cuidadosos y específicos (que no estoy planeando intentar!!!), pueden comerse. Rusos y Escandinavos los disfrutan muchísimo!!!

Mushrooms are known as the "meat" of the vegetable world, but for sure not these ones!!!
Los hongos son conocidos como la "carne" en el mundo vegetal, pero seguro que estos no!!!

During centuries they have been used in different ways: medicinal, for religious purposes, even to dye natural fibers and producing strong, vivid colors!!
Durante siglos se han usado en formas diferentes: medicinal, con fines religiosos, inclusive para teñir fibras naturales y produciendo colores fuertes y vívidos!!

As my sister Pilar says, how spectacular nature is!!
Como dice mi hermana Pilar, que espectacular es la naturaleza!!

They can grow to be as big as a dinner plate!!!
Pueden crecer hasta ser tan grandes como un plato de comida!!!

We don't need to eat them to enjoy them!!! Just looking at them is enought!!!
No necesitamos comerlos para disfrutarlos!!! Sólo con mirarlos es suficiente!!!

Even I can't denied they look appetizing to me!!

Apparently are considered good luck in many parts of Europe, and I was lucky being able to see them .... and you looking at the pictures I took!!
Aparentemente son considerados de buena suerte en muchas partes de Europa, y yo tuve la suerte de poderlos ver .... y ustedes de ver las fotos que tomé!!  

And some days later ..... maybe you'll recognize some of them, bigger now!!
Y algunos días más tarde ..... talvez reconocerán algunos de ellos, más grandes ahora!!

Many times we take things for granted, and even beauty is always there, these mushrooms for example were here just for some days. I dare all of you to try to see something beautiful every day!!
Muchas veces tomamos cosas por garantizadas, y aunque la belleza está siempre ahí, estos hongos por ejemplo estuvieron aquí por sólo unos días. Los reto a tratar de ver algo hermoso cada día!!
 

We live in a beautiful world, let's keep our eyes open to enjoy more and more all its beauty!!

Over 300 million years ago, long before the dinosaurs walked the Earth, giant dragonflies were flying around!!
And today, fortunately smaller, they are still here!!
Hace unos 300 millones de años, mucho antes de que los dinosaurios caminaran sobre la Tierra, libélulas gigantes estaban volando alrededor!!
Y hoy, afortunadamente más pequeñas, todavía están aquí!!

Another park in Surrey, was a cloudy and cold afternoon but wanted to take some pictures before all the gorgeous colors were gone!!
Otro parque en Surrey, una tarde fría y nublada pero quería tomar algunas fotos antes de que los hermosos colores se hubieran ido!!  

Watching millions of leaves turn from green to different colors is one of nature's most beautiful shows, don't you agree?!!!
El ver millones de hojas cambiar de verde a diferentes colores es uno de los más hermosos espectáculos de la naturaleza, no están de acuerdo?!!!
  

The range and intensity of these colors is greatly influenced by the weather. The brightest colors are produced when dry, sunny days are followed by cool, dry nights.
La gama e intensidad de estos colores están muy influenciados por el clima. Los colores más vívidos se producen cuando días soleados y secos son seguidos por noches secas y frías.
 

I'm so grateful I'm here and can enjoy this wonderful gift that nature shows to some of us every year!!!

Fall!!! - Otoño!!!

After some weeks without posting pictures, here you have some of the spectacular Fall I'm enjoying!!!!
A sunny Sunday afternoon took my camera and to Bear Creek Park I went, and with these pictures you can see why I'm saying I'm enjoying Fall so much!!!  
I won't be writing about each one of them, but hope that anyway you'll enjoy the colors and the beauty!!
Luego de varias semanas sin bajar fotos, aquí tienen algunas del otoño espectacular que estoy disfrutando!!!!
Una soleada tarde de domingo cogí mi cámara y me fuí para el parque Quebrada del oso, y con estas fotos pueden ver por qué digo que estoy gozando tanto del otoño!!!
No voy a escribir sobre cada una de ellas, pero espero que de todas formas disfrutarán los colores y la belleza!!  

As I wrote to my family, they look very nice but no way I'll try any of them!!

The ones at the beginning and this one are some mushrooms I saw that day, but will post some more from other ones I saw another day that are just spectacular!!
Los del principio y éste son algunos de los hongos que ví ese día, pero bajaré más de otros que ví otro día que son simplemente espectaculares!!

 

Moon and beach - Luna y playa.

I know the moon has a lot to do with the tides, but I think the very hot days we had some days ago had nothing to do with the full moon that days but with the global warming, and going to the beach was a great alternative to enjoy fresher moments!!
Se que la luna tiene mucho que ver con las mareas, pero pienso que los dias tan calientes que tuvimos hace algunos dias nada tienen que ver con la luna llena de esos dias pero si con el calentamiento global, y el ir a la playa fue una gran alternativa para disfrutar de momentos mas frescos!!

Almost full, just one more night!!
Casi llena, solo una noche mas!!

And with a day that was hotter inside than outside, went to Crescent beach!!
Y con un dia mas caliente adentro que afuera, me fui para la playa Creciente!!

This part of the coast has "extreme" tides, and even with low tide, wasn't as low as other times I had been there!!
Esta parte de la costa tiene mareas "extremas", y aunque con marea baja, no estaba tan baja como otras veces que he estado alli!!

It amazes me how the rocks don't fall immediately!! I saw the guy doing it ... and 30 minutes later it was still there!!

Me impresiona que las rocas no se caen inmediatamente!! Vi al muchacho haciendolo ... y 30 minutos mas tarde todavia estaba ahi!!

 

And even wasn't as fresh as I wanted, being close to the water and with this view, of course I was feeling a lot more refresh!!
Y aunque no estaba tan fresco como yo queria, estando cerca del agua y con esta vista, por supuesto me estaba sintiendo mas fresca!!

No, it isn't full, but the difference with 2 nights before is minimum!!
