And as long as Winter was, the season for tulips that year was a long one too, April and still enjoying them!!
Y tan largo como fue el invierno, la temporada de los tulipanes de ese año también fue larga, Abril y aún disfrutando de ellos!!

And I was very happy enjoying the ones I bought and the ones I planted, this one one of them!!
Y yo muy felíz disfrutando los que compré y los que planté, éste uno de ellos!!

During some weeks every year, tulips transform fields into a colorful blanket, but this time these ones transformed the entry to my place into a gorgeous one!!
Durante varias semanas cada año, los tulipanes transforman los campos en una manta colorida, pero esta vez éstos transformaron la entrada a mi casa en un lugar precioso!!

Being so beautiful, it's not surprising that tulips have fascinated people for many centuries!!
Siendo tan hermosos, no es sorprendente que los tulipanes hayan fascinado a tanta gente y por tantos siglos!!

And guess what? In Jan. 14, 2018 I saw the tips of some of them coming again!!!
Y adivinen que? El 14 de Enero del 2018 ví las puntas de algunos de ellos ya saliendo de nuevo!!!

It's incredible how light can affect changes, this one is the same tulip than the one in the next picture, the afternoon before!!!
Es increíble como la luz puede afectar los cambios, éste es el mismo tulipán que el de la siguiente foto, la tarde anterior!!!
  

Now open and receiving the sun rays directly!!!
Ahora abierto y recibiendo los rayos del sol directamente!!!

Like the song, they are my "sunshine", they really make me happy!!
Como la canción, ellos son mis "rayos de sol", realmente me alegran los días!!

Are the most colorful of all Spring flowers, and will always put on an impressive show!!
Son las más coloridas de todas las flores de primavera, y siempre nos brindarán un espectáculo  impresionante!!

These ones are the most perennial of all tulip varieties, hopefully I'll have them back for many years to come!!
Estos son los más perennes de todas las variedades de tulipanes, espero tenerles de regreso por muchos años por venir!!

For generations they have been associated with happiness, springtime, and positive feelings. And with the exception of springtime, they for sure have given me a lot of happiness and many other positive feelings!!
Por generaciones han estado asociados con felicidad, con el tiempo de primavera, y con sentimientos positivos. Y con la excepción del tiempo de primavera, ellos seguro me han dado mucha felicidad y muchos otros sentimientos positivos!!
 

This kind of tulips are descendants of one of the very first tulips. They are native to the Mediterranean.
Esta clase de tulipanes son descendientes de uno de los primeros tipos de tulipanes. Son nativos del Mediterráneo.

They are commonly known as Emperor tulips, and are as majestic as their name!!
Son conocidos comunmente como tulipanes Emperador, y son tan majestuosos como su nombre!!

Everything happens at the right time. I was still enjoying them back then, but now they are coming back and I'll be enjoying them again pretty soon!!
Todo sucede en el momento correcto. Todavía los estaba disfrutando en aquél entonces, pero ahora están regresando y muy pronto los estaré disfrutando de nuevo!!

As I mentioned before, that Winter was longer, colder, and with more snow than many people remembered in this part of Canada!!
Como mencioné antes, ese invierno fue más largo, más frío, y con más nieve que la que mucha gente recordaba en ésta parte de Canadá!!

March 7th. and still snowing 😁😁😁!! But officially, it was still Winter!!
Marzo 7 y aún nevando 😁😁😁!! Pero oficialmente, aún era invierno!!

And with Spring coming, my crocuses were opening!!
Y con la primavera viniendo, mis azafranes estaban abriendo!!

After Winter, they are one of the first flowers to emerge to bring life and color to the early Spring!!
Después del invierno, son de las primeras flores que llegan a brindar vida y color al principio de la primavera!!
 

It's a flower that looks great and supposedly is easy to grow. I really hope mines will come back this year!!
Es una flor que luce genial y supuestamente es muy fácil de mantener. Yo realmente espero que las mías vuelvan éste año!!

Somebody was asking me the other day what makes me happy, having beautiful tulips decorating my home for some weeks every year is just one of the things that makes me really happy!!
Alguien me preguntaba el otro día qué me hace feliz, el tener hermosos tulipanes decorando mi hogar por algunas semanas cada año es una de las cosas que me hace realmente feliz!!
 

There are many beautiful flowers, but few have so many festivals in its honor around the world!!
Hay muchas flores hermosas, pero pocas tienen tantos festivales en su honor alrededor del mundo!!

They came in many hues and colors, but there is one they don't come in: Pure blue. Fortunately I don't need the blue one, with tulips any color is precious to me!!
Vienen en muchos colores y matices, pero hay uno en el que no salen: Azul puro. Afortunadamente no necesito el azul, con los tulipanes cualquier color es precioso para mí!!

And finishing with the tulips, an interesting information: Not all are fragrant, but all of them can be eaten!!
Y para terminar con los tulipanes, una información interesante: No todos tienen fragancia, pero todos ellos pueden comerse!!

And with Spring around the corner, the weather was also better and I took advantage of it going to this place I like very much!!
Y con la primavera a la vuelta de la esquina, el clima también estaba mejorando y tomé ventaja de ésto llendo a un lugar que me gusta muchísimo!!

The Serpentine wildlife management area is home to more than 130 different species of birds, including Canadian geese and ducks!!
El área de manejo de vida silvestre Serpentino es hogar para más de 130 diferentes especies de aves, incluyendo el ganso canadiense y patos!!
 

But also insects and other creatures birds feed from!!
Pero también insectos y otras criaturas de las que las aves se alimentan!!

A Northern Shoveler, a very appropriate name with its spoon-like bill!!
Un pato cuchareta, un nombre muy apropiado con su pico en forma de cuchara!!

Blue herons are visible throughout the year "fishing and hunting" in the marshes, normally alone.
Las garzas azules son visibles durante todo el año "pescando y cazando" en los pantános, normalmente solos.  

Even being so small, the green-winged teal is a fast flier, can reach 70 km. per hour!!
Aún siendo tan pequeño, el pato alado verde-azul es muy rápido, puede alcanzar los 70 km. por hora!!

The bufflehead is one of North America's smallest diving ducks, and being divers, I was lucky to have the time to take its picture!!
El pato albeola es uno de los patos buceadores más pequeños de Norte América, y siendo buceadores, tuve mucha suerte de tener el tiempo para tomarle la foto!!
 

There is something infinitely healing in nature, how not to feel completely amazed by an scenario like this one?
Hay algo infinitamente sanador en la naturaleza, cómo no sentirse completamente fascinad@ con un escenario como éste?   

The red-winged blackbird is one of the first signs of Spring, and to be able to observe the males flying with their bright red shoulders open is an incredible experience!!
El mirlo de alas rojas es uno de los primeros signos de la primavera, y el poder observar a los machos con sus hombros rojo brillante abiertos mientras vuelan es una experiencia increíble!!
 

Depending on the specie, its flowers can be enjoyed during Autumn, Winter, or Spring. How lucky we are being able to enjoy them almost all year round!!
Dependiendo de la especie, sus flores se pueden disfrutar durante otoño, invierno, o primavera. Que suerte tenemos de poderles disfrutar casi todo el año!!

They come in so many different shapes, colors, some with a soft scent, and so pretty that it's impossible for me not to fall in love with them!!
Vienen en tantas formas diferentes, colores, algunos con una suave fragancia, y tan hermosos que es imposible para mí no enamorarme de ellos!!

I choose to marvel at it, because as I used to say to John, there isn't absolutely nothing you can do to stop it from falling!!
Yo escojo maravillarme con ella, porque como solía decirle a John, no hay absolutamente nada que puedas hacer para detener su caída!!

We have this gift of life to enjoy, and with a blue sky, the moon and some branches from a tree, how not to enjoy it?
Tenemos éste regalo de la vida para disfrutar, y con un cielo azul, la luna y algunas ramas de un árbol, cómo no disfrutarle?

Frozen back then, but the ice melted and one year later it's still alive!!
Helada en aquél entonces, pero el hielo se derritió y un año después aún está viva!!

As I mentioned, they come in different colors, but no matter the color, I love them!!
Como mencioné, vienen en diferentes colores, pero sin importar el color, me encantan!!

I'm very grateful I can enjoy them, and meanwhile I still can, I'll continue enjoying them!!
Soy muy agradecida de poderles disfrutar, y mientras aún pueda, continuaré gozándoles!!

It was too early for them to be in gardens, but lucky me!!, I was able to buy them from the market!!
Era muy temprano para verlos en jardines, pero que suertuda!!, pude comprarlos en el mercado!!
 

These crocuses are planted, hope to have them back this year!!
Estos azafranes están plantados, espero tenerles de regreso éste año!!

They made my life a lot prettier back then .... and pretty soon, they'll do it again!!

After working that day in Vancouver, to Stanley Park I went to enjoy the nice weather and a blue heron as well!!
Luego de trabajar ese día en Vancouver, me fuí al parque Stanley para disfrutar del buen clima y de una garza azul también!!

And after a beautiful afternoon, a golden brooch to finish the day, a gorgeous sight of Vancouver's skyline!!
Y luego de una tarde preciosa, un broche de oro para finalizar el día, una vista grandiosa del horizonte de Vancouver!!

Not to many things can give me so much pleasure as a snowy scenario like this one!!
No muchas cosas me dan tanto placer como un escenario nevado como éste!!

Impossible not to be amaze by such an spectacular show, there for everyone to enjoy!!
Imposible no maravillarse con un show tan espectacular, ahí para el gozo de todos!!

Even that Winter was very cold and with a lot more snow that we are used to have in this part of Canada, it was one that I really enjoyed!! And even the sun wasn't very successful shining that day, there were and will continue being a lot more sunny days!!

Aunque ese invierno fue bastante frio y con más nieve de la que estamos acostumbrados en ésta parte de Canadá, fue uno que realmente disfruté!! Y aunque el sol no fue muy exitoso en brillar ese día, hubo y continuarán habiendo muchos más días soleados!!
