Mother's day - Dia de Madres

Mother's day a friend of John invited us for lunch, and between the food and the beautiful flowers him and his wife have, we enjoyed a beautiful day!!
El dia de Madres un amigo de John nos invito a almorzar, y entre la comida y las hermosas flores que el y su esposa tienen, disfrutamos de un hermoso dia!!

Think they are from the pansies family, but not sure!! Anyway, lovely ones, and if you look at them from closer, they are like ''iridescent''!!
Creo que son de la familia de los pensamientos, pero no estoy segura!! De todas formas, adorables, y si las miramos mas de cerca, son como ''iridiscentes''!!

And now, some of the beautiful orchids they have!!
Y ahora, algunas de las hermosas orquideas que tienen!!

 I know they are a very delicate flower to take care of, but it seems they have a ''good hand'' for these ones!!
Yo se que son flores muy delicadas para mantener, pero parece que ellos tienen ''buena mano'' con estas!!
 

They come in different colors, shapes, sizes, but for sure, all of them are splendid!!
Vienen en diferentes colores, formas, tamanos, pero con seguridad, todas ellas son esplendidas!!

Enjoying Spring!! - Disfrutando la primavera!!

As the proverb says: '' No matter how long the Winter, Spring is sure to follow.'' And meanwhile it's here, let's enjoy it!!
Como dice el proverbio: ''No importa que tan largo sea el invierno, la primavera, con toda seguridad, le sigue.'' Y mientras este aqui, vamos a disfrutarla!!

This day, after a job appointment, I was on my way to visit a friend's husband who is in a place near by, and to go there, I needed to go through a little park and these gorgeous flowers were there!!
Esta dia, despues de una cita de trabajo, en el camino a visitar el esposo de una amiga que esta en un lugar cerca a la oficina donde estaba, necesitaba pasar por un pequeno parque y estas hermosas flores estaban ahi!!
  

 And I was thinking how fortunate we are being able to enjoy the colors, the smells, the beauty around us!!
Y estaba pensando que afortunados somos de poder disfrutar de los colores, olores, y la belleza alrededor nuestro!!

All marvelous blessings, there for everyone who wants and can enjoy them!!
Todas bendiciones maravillosas, ahi para todo aquel que quiera y pueda disfrutarlas!!

I was also thinking that more we note all the ''miracles'' around us, happier we are!!
Tambien estaba pensando que mientras mas notamos los ''milagros'' a nuestro alrededor, mas felices somos!!

 I was reading the other day that Spring is like ''rebirth'', everything blooms again, an to me, it gives me hope, Spring is here again, and as in our lives, changes will continue coming, and hopefully, they'll be wonderful changes!!
Estaba leyendo el otro dia que primavera es como ''renacer'', todo comienza a ''florecer'' de nuevo, y a mi me da esperanza, primavera esta aqui de nuevo, y como en nuestras vidas, los cambios seguiran llegando, y lo que espero es que seran cambios maravillosos!!
 

What a beautiful season, don't let it get way without enjoying it!!
Que hermosa estacion, no la dejemos pasar sin disfrutarla!!

 ''Friends are the flowers in the garden of life'', and for sure, you all are my flowers!!
''Las amistades son las flores en el jardin de nuestra vida'', y eso es seguro, todos ustedes son mis flores!!

''We all deserve a day where worries don't get in the way of anything, because the blessings in our lives are far greater than our burdens'', and during Spring, we can for sure, be more positive!!
''Todos nos merecemos un dia donde las preocupaciones no interfieran con nada, porque las bendiciones que tenemos son mucho mas grandes que nuestras ''cargas'''', y durante la primavera, seguro que podemos  ser mas positivos!!
  

 Let's this Spring to transform our lives for the better!!
Dejemos que esta primavera nos transforme, mejorando nuestras vidas!!

 Who can't be amaze just observing how nature blooms?!!
Quien no se maravilla simplemente observando como brota la naturaleza?!!

Spring, the season when everything seems to come to life again, the season of new beginnings!!
Primavera, la estacion en la que todo parece revivir, la estacion de nuevos comienzos!!

One more time .... and every year, nature will say it again, one more time...!!
Una vez mas ..... y cada ano, la naturaleza volvera a decir, una vez mas ....!!

They are back, again!! - Estan de regreso, de nuevo!!

They are back!!! and hopefully this time, I'll be able to enjoy the whole family!!
Estan de regreso!!! y espero que esta vez, pueda disfrutar de la familia completa!!

Still Spring, and of course, still a lot of flowers around!!
Aun primavera, y por supuesto, aun con muchas flores alrededor!!
 

 Yes, they're back!!! Like the last 3 years, they are back to their ''favorite'' spot!!
Si, estan de regreso!! Como los ultimos 3 anos, estan de regreso a su punto ''favorito!!

 Fortunately, the flower pot is still there and big enough for them to nest!!
Afortunadamente, la matera aun esta ahi y lo suficientemente grande para ellos anidar!!

 But for next year, I'll suggest the owner to cut all the little branches, I don't think the goose is ''comfy'' with them under her/him!!
Pero para el ano entrante, voy a sugerirle a la duena que corte las ramitas, no creo que la gansa o ganso esten ''confortables'' con ellas debajo de ellos!!
  

 Anyway, I think that for them (the goose), the most important ''disturbance'' are us (humans)!!
De todas formas, creo que para ellos (los gansos), lo que mas los disturba somos nosotros (humanos)!!
 

 And that pot isn't the only one, they have more .... with flowers!!
Y esa no es la unica matera, hay mas .... con flores!!

 Maybe that's what attract them, water, flowers, and a nice pot for them to nest!!
Tal vez eso sea lo que los atrae, estar cerca del agua, con flores y una buena matera para anidar!!

Glad any other bird took this one, that way, now, we can enjoy this beautiful ''plant/flower''!!
Que suerte que ningun otro pajaro se ''adueno'' de esta, asi, ahora, podemos disfrutar de esta hermosa ''planta-flor''!!

 And I think this goose is grateful we're leaving!! Y pienso que el ganso/a debe estar agradecido que ya nos vamos!! 

New ones at home!! - Nuevas en la casa!!

These are the new flowers we are enjoying at home!! No more tulips, but these beauties to enjoy as well!!
Estas son las nuevas flores que estamos disfrutando en casa!! No mas tulipanes, pero estas bellezas para disfrutar tambien!!

Enjoying these beautiful flowers make me wish you were here to enjoy them with me, but at least you can enjoy them with my pictures!!
El disfrutar de estas flores me hace desear que estuvieran aqui disfrutandolas conmigo, pero al menos las pueden disfrutar con mis fotos!!
 

The world is beautiful and flowers are designed for us to have the pleasure of enjoying it!!
El mundo es hermoso y las flores estan disenadas para que nosotros tengamos el placer de disfrutarlo!!
 

Just "simple" flowers but how much they can "say" and do for us!!
Solo son "simples" flores pero hay que ver todo lo que pueden "decir" y hacer por nosotros!!

May!! - Mayo!!

May, a very busy month for us, enjoying nice weather most of the time, and visiting new places whenever possible!!
Mayo, un mes bastante ocupado para nosotros, disfrutando del buen clima la mayoria del tiempo, y visitando nuevos lugares cuando podemos!!

Redwood Park. A new one for both of us! John was amazed with the size of the giant sequoias (Sierra Redwood), the ones that give the name to the park. Typical from California, now he doesn't need to go there to see them!!
Parque Redwood (madera roja). Uno nuevo para ambos! John estaba asombrado con el tamano de las sequoias gigantes (Sierra Redwood), que le dan el nombre al parque. Tipicas de California, ahora el no necesita ir alli para verlas!!

The world's  largest trees by volume! These ones were the ones that started it all (the park)!!
Los arboles mas grandes del mundo, por volumen! Estos fueron los que comenzaron todo (el parque)!!

 Twin brothers, David and Peter Brown, creators of this place, began their stunning collection of trees in 1893 with the Redwood Grove, grown from mere seedlings they collected in California!!
Los hermanos gemelos, David y Peter Brown, creadores de este lugar, comenzaron su impresionante coleccion de arboles en 1893 con la arboleda de sequoias, que crecieron de arbolitos que los hermanos trajeron de California!!

 This is the ''replica'' of the house were the brothers used to live. The original one was burned, and this one is the ''replica'' of their second one, that was replaced for safety reasons, more secure for the people visiting the park!! 
Esta es la ''replica'' de la casa donde los hermanos solian vivir. La original se quemo, y esta es la ''replica'' de la segunda, que fue reemplazada por razones de seguridad, mas segura para la gente que visita el parque!!

 We were looking around for the name of this one, couldn't find it!! A beautiful tree, don't you agree?
Estuvimos mirando a ver si veiamos el nombre, pero no pudimos encontrarlo!! Un hermoso arbol, no estan de acuerdo?

 And continuing with the walk, enjoying some of the flowers around, like these blue bells!!
Y continuamos con la caminata, disfrutando de algunas flores alrededor, como estas ''campanitas azules'' (asi llaman a estas florecitas)!!

  Let's take a rest, enjoying the gorgeous surroundings!! Tomemos un descanso, disfrutando de los magnificos alrededores!!

Still from April!! - Aun de Abril!!

Already May and here I'm still posting pictures from April, but I hope I'll finish tonight (with April's ones!!), anyway, I'm sure you'll enjoy them!!
Ya es Mayo y aqui estoy todavia bajando fotos de Abril, pero espero terminar hoy (con las de Abril!!), aunque de todas formas, estoy segura que igual las disfrutaran!!

 And to begin tonight, a TULIP!! (lol), and probably the last one of this kind, it was just opening that day (April 23), but for sure is gone by now ... but other kinds are blooming!!
Y para comenzar esta noche, un TULIPAN!! (jajaja), y probablemente el ultimo de esta clase, apenas estaba abriendo ese dia (Abril 23), pero seguro que para estas fechas ya no esta .... pero otras clases estan abriendo!!

 I know is a weed, but gorgeous anyway!! Ya se que es maleza, pero preciosa de todas formas!!

 And you can eat them, the flowers and the leaves!! Y se pueden comer, las flores y las hojas!!

 Now, one of the ''new'' parks we are visiting lately!!  Its name : Serpentine River Fen.
It's a natural reserve for all kind of birds, like this one, red-winged blackbird, that is a beauty with the wings open, red!!
Ahora, uno de los ''nuevos'' parques que estamos visitando ultimamente!! Su nombre: Marisma del rio Serpentine. Es una reserva natural para toda clase de aves, como este, alado bermejo, que es una belleza con las alas abiertas, rojas!!  

 And this one too, resting on the tip of a cattail!! Y este tambien, descansando en la punta de una ''espadana''!!
  

 Of course, the canadian goose can't be miss. We suspect the nest  was close by, because this one was kind of following us when we were walking around there!!
Por supuesto, no podemos perdernos el ganso canadiense. Sospechamos que el nido estaba cerca, porque nos estaba ''persiguiendo'' mientras caminabamos por ese lado!!
 

 And another ''common'' one in this lands, the blue heron, what a great sight it's to see them flying!!
Y otro ''comun'' en estas tierras, la garza azul, es grandioso verlas volando!!
   

 If there is a nest disturbed by humans, they may abandon it, then, better not to go to close!!
Si tienen nido y este es de alguna forma, ''molestado'' por humanos, tienden a abandonarlo, asi que mejor no acercarse mucho!!
 

 And meanwhile I continued taking pictures and trying not to disturb the birds, John took a break to enjoy the beautiful place, without disturbing any bird either!!
Y mientras yo continuaba tomando fotos y tratando de no molestar las aves, John tomo un descanso para disfrutar del hermoso lugar, tambien, sin disturbar las aves!!
  

 That day wasn't very good for bird watching, not the season yet, but anyway, we saw some couples, like these ducks (the male is the prettiest one!), but nor even one ''baby'' around!!
Ese dia no fue el mejor para ir a ver aves, aun no era la temporada, pero de todas formas, vimos algunas parejas, como estos patos (el macho es el mas bonito!), pero ni una sola ''cria'' alrededor!!
  

Walking around in the designated paths, you can find different vegetation, like these apple tree full of buds!!
Caminando por los caminos designados, podemos encontrar diferente vegetacion, como este manzano lleno de florecitas retonando!!

 Love this ''tunnel'' formed by different trees!! Me encanta este ''tunel'' formado por diferentes arboles!!

 And to finish with April's pictures, an spectacular and very exotic flower!!, even more ''special'' knowing it's planted in a pot .... in a shopping mall!!!
Y para terminar con las fotos de Abril, una espectacular y muy exotica flor!!, aun mas ''especial'' sabiendo que esta en una matera .... en un Centro Comercial!!!
 

 It's like different flowers all in one!! Es como varias flores en una sola!!

Every flower has qualities and attributes worth admiring, but this one really called my attention!! First time I saw it, hopefully not the last one!!
Cada flor tiene cualidades y atributos que la hacen admirable, pero esta realmente llamo mi atencion!! Primera vez que la veo, pero espero no sea la ultima!!
