A long weekend!! - Un fin de semana de puente!!

Even it wasn't a ''real'' long weekend, we decided to go out with Esperanza from Friday, July 19, to Monday, July 22. We had a great time and are looking for some more long weekends to go out and enjoy the Summer even more!!
We enjoyed some new experiences, like a couple of swans with their babies, watching killer wales in the wild for the first time in our lives, a bat in one of the sails, a lot of eagles around, full moon, and new, beautiful places, all part of the stunning God's creation, nature!!!  
Aunque no fue un fin de semana de puente ''real'', decidimos salir en Esperanza desde el viernes, Julio 19, hasta el lunes, Julio 22. Lo pasamos genial y esperamos mas fines de semana de puente para salir y disfrutar aun mas del verano!!
Disfrutamos de algunas nuevas experiencias, como un par de cisnes con sus bebes, pudimos ver orcas en su ambiente (libres!) por primera vez en nuestras vidas, un murcielago en una de las velas, muchas aguilas alrededor, luna llena, y nuevos, hermosos lugares, todo parte de la asombrosa creacion de Dios, la naturaleza!!!

 Friday, July 19. We went to the marina the night before, slept there, and were planning to leave Friday morning, after using the washrooms at the marina. I took my camera, and coming back to Esperanza, these charming flowers were there, fascinating ones, aren't they?!!
Viernes, 19 de Julio. Fuimos a la marina la noche anterior, dormimos alli, y estabamos planeando partir el viernes en la manana, luego de usar los banos de la marina. Cogi mi camara y cuando estaba regresando a Esperanza, estas encantadoras flores estaban alli, fascinantes, no?!!
  

It's amazing to be able to ''observe'' the tactics of protection nature uses, look where the flowers grow from!!
Es increible poder ''observar'' las tacticas de proteccion que usa la naturaleza, miren de donde crecen las flores!!

Leaving!! Do you remember the pictures of the 3 swans I posted some weeks ago?, now we have 2 parents and 3 babies!!
Ya saliendo!! Se acuerdan de las fotos de 3 cisnes que baje hace unas semanas?, ahora hay 2 padres y 3 bebes!!

One of the parents (probably mom!) with the 3 babies!! And still not high tide!!
Uno de los padres (probablemente mama!) con los 3 bebes!! Y aun sin marea alta!!

Both parents. John says the one in the water (the slender one) must be the mom, males are normally bigger.
Los padres. John dice que el que esta en el agua (el mas delgado) debe ser la mama, los machos normalmente son mas grandes.

 Male, female? It doesn't matter, radiant any way!!!
Macho, hembra? No importa, radiante de todas formas!!!

Again, probably mom with her babies!! De nuevo, probablemente mama con sus bebes!!

And we continued our trip .... but some minutes later we were stuck in mud!!! After a little while trying to get free, we were able to come back to the marina and wait for a higher tide!!

Y continuamos con nuestro viaje .... pero luego de unos minutos nos atrancamos en barro!!! Luego de un rato intentando salir de ahi, pudimos regresar a la marina y esperar por marea mas alta!!

And coming back, this elegant blue heron was ready for my picture!!

Y regresando, esta elegante garza azul estaba lista para mi foto!!

And another one fishing, and very lucky, while we were observing, caught a lot of small fish, but of course, they are experts at fishing!!

Y otra pescando, y con mucha suerte, mientras la estuvimos mirando, cogio bastantes pececitos, pero por supuesto, son expertas en pescar!!

Con el ''ojo de pescado'' Parada en un ''tronco'' que ustedes no pueden ver por la manga!!

 

 And now, after some hours, we were finally out in the river!!! And enjoying more blue herons (3 of them in this picture.)
Y ahora, luego de varias horas, ya estabamos afuera en el rio!!! Y disfrutando de mas garzas azules (3 en esta foto.)

 And not only blue herons, eagles too!!! And yes, that's a nest on top of the tower!!
Y no solo garzas azules, aguilas tambien!!! Y si, es un nido en el tope de la torre!!

Don't know if was ''protecting'' its nest or just enjoying the view meanwhile resting!!
No se si estaba ''protegiendo'' su nido o simplemente gozando la vista mientras descansaba!!

Another tower, a couple of eagles!! We were talking that this time we saw a lot more eagles than any other time before!! 

Otra torre, un par de aguilas!! Estabamos hablando que esta vez vimos muchas mas aguilas que en ninguna ocasion anterior!! 

Roberts Bank and Mt. Baker. Roberts Bank belongs to Canada, but some meters away it becomes Point Roberts, US territory (because of coordinates), as Mt. Baker that is in Washington State!!

Robert Bank y Monte Baker. Robert Bank pertenece a Canada, pero en unos metros mas se convierte en Point Roberts, territorio de USA (por las coordenadas), asi como el Monte Baker que esta en el estado de Washington!!

And now we are out in the ocean!!! Can you see the different water colors?, the darker one is the ocean, the other is the river!!

Y ya estamos afuera en el oceano!!! Pueden ver la diferencia de colores en el agua?, el lado mas oscuro es el oceano, el otro es el rio!!

 John and his eyes, as blue as the sky!! John y sus ojos, tan azules como el cielo!!

LOL!!! When we arrived to the marina, John told me there was some ''bat poop'' under a sail. Next day, once in the ocean, John opened the sail, and here it was, a little bat!!! At the beginning I thought it was dead, but after the shock, opened its mouth and began to move, and after some seconds, flew away!!!
Jajaja!!! Cuando llegamos a la marina, John me dijo que habia ''cagaditas de vampiro'' bajo una de las velas. Al dia siguiente, cuando ya estabamos en el oceano, John abrio la vela, y ahi estaba, un murcielaguito!!! Al principio pense que estaba muerto, pero luego del shock, abrio su boca y comenzo a moverse, y luego de unos segundos, volo lejos!!!

 After 7 hours navigating, we arrived to Mayne Island, and anchored there. After dinner, we sat down outside and enjoyed the sunset and almost a full moon on the other side!!
Luego de 7 horas navegando, llegamos a la isla de Mayne, y anclamos alli. Luego de cenar, nos sentamos afuera y disfrutamos del atardecer y de una casi luna llena en el otro lado!!
 

Some more nights for full moon, but almost there!! And here I finish with our first day of this trip!!
Algunas noches mas para la luna llena, pero ya casi!! Y aqui termino con nuestro primer dia de este viaje!!

 

BBQ at the neighbor - BBQ donde el vecino.

Last week one of our neighbors (latin family!!) invited us for a BBQ, and for desserts we enjoyed some fruits (cherries, mangos, grapes, etc.), between other kind of desserts, like an ice cream cake, perfect for summer time!!
La semana pasada uno de nuestros vecinos (una familia latina) nos invito a un BBQ, y de postres disfrutamos algunas frutas (cerezas, mangos, uvas, etc.), entre otras clases de postres, como un pastel helado, perfecto para verano!!

Quieren sandia? Lo siento, este es el pastel helado, la sandia ''real'' esta al lado!!

Simpaticas tarticas, con algunas bayas de la temporada, fresas, agraz (o mortino), y frambuesas!!

July 14, Bear Creek Park - Julio 14, Parque Quebrada del oso

After some days, here I'm again with the pictures of a beautiful evening in ''our'' park, while enjoying a nice walk after dinner, and surrounded by gorgeous flowers all around!!.... And so many, that collages are the best way to see them this time again!!
Luego de varios dias, aqui estoy de nuevo con las fotos de un hermoso atardecer en ''nuestro'' parque, mientras disfrutabamos de una agradable caminata luego de cenar, y rodeados por preciosas flores a nuestro alrededor!! ...... Y tantas, que en grupos es de nuevo la mejor forma de verlas!!

A different species of cattail, doesn't need a wetland, but pretty anyway!!
Una especie diferente de espadana, no necesita de tierras pantanosas, pero hermosa de todas formas!!

The season for lilies, and looking at them make me think how some people can say there isn't perfection?!!!
La temporada para los lirios, y mirandoles me hace pensar como alguna gente puede decir que no hay perfeccion?!!!

So exquisite!! And they all are there for us to enjoy!! Tan exquisitas!! Y estan ahi para nosotros disfrutarlas!!

And these ones, for me, are the ''exotic'' ones, first time in my life that I see them!!
Y estas, para mi, son las ''exoticas'', primera vez en mi vida que las veo!!

There are always beautiful things in the world, every day, everywhere, we just need to open our eyes to see them!!
Siempre hay cosas hermosas en el mundo, cada dia, en todas partes, solo necesitamos abrir nuestros ojos para verlas!!

Last Sunday we went to a birthday party for the son of some friends, 8 years old!! And of course, being Summer, the invitation included to bring swimming suit if we wanted to enjoy the pool they have. John was telling me that if many children were there, he would stay out of the pool, but it was hot and he decided to enjoy them anyway!!!!!
El pasado domingo fuimos a una fiesta de cumpleanos del hijo de unos amigos, 8 anos!! Y por supuesto, siendo verano, la invitacion incluia llevar traje de bano si queriamos disfrutar de la piscina que tienen. John me decia que si habia muchos ninos, el se quedaria fuera de la piscina, pero estaba haciendo calor y decidio uniserles de todas formas!!!!!

 And after some of the children left, he took one of the life savers to use it as a hat!!!
Y luego de que algunos ninos se salieron, John tomo uno de los salvavidas para usarlo como sombrero!!!

For sure we had a great time, John enjoying the pool a lot, and me, seeing him enjoying so much!!
Si, pasamos un rato genial, John disfrutando muchisimo de la piscina, y yo, viendolo disfrutar tanto!!

And with these lilacs and its fragrance close by, of course we were having a marvelous afternoon!!
Y con estas lilas y su fragancia cerca, por supuesto que estabamos pasando una tarde maravillosa!!

 According to some people, lilacs, together with roses, are the most beautiful and aromatic flowers in the world!!
Segun algunas personas, las lilas, junto con las rosas, son las flores mas hermosas y aromaticas en el mundo!!

Humans are not the only ones attracted by its attributes, look at the bee!!
Los humanos no somos los unicos atraidos por sus atributos, miren la abeja!!

 Oh, yeah!!!! No doubt he was having a great time!!! Oh, siii!!!! No hay duda que estaba pasandola muy bien!!!

Alive!! - Viva!!

The other day I went walking to a supermarket and coming back was when I took these pictures, how not to be thankful being able to walk and enjoying these beauties in my way home? Everyday I give thanks to God for all the blessings we have in our lives, like being able to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love, to feel alive!!!
El otro dia me fui caminando a un supermercado y regresando fue cuando tome estas fotos, como no ser agradecida pudiendo caminar y disfrutando de estas bellezas durante mi regreso a casa? Cada dia doy gracias a Dios por todas las bendiciones que tenemos en nuestras vidas, como ser capaces de respirar, de pensar, de gozar, de amar, de sentirnos vivos!!!

I feel so alive when enjoying precious moments like these ones, taking pictures of such beauties!!
Me siento tan viva cuando estoy disfrutando preciosos momentos como estos, tomando fotos de estas bellezas!!

Serpentine River Fen again!! - Marisma del rio Serpentine de nuevo!!!

July 1st., Canada Day, we went to the Serpentine River Fen again, a lot of beautiful flowers around, but even less birds than the last time!! Anyway, with high temperatures but a nice breeze almost all the time, we had a great time walking around!!
1ro. de Julio, el dia de Canada, fuimos de nuevo a la marisma del rio Serpentine, muchas flores hermosas alrededor, pero aun menos aves que la ultima vez!! De todas formas, con altas temperaturas pero una agradable brisa casi todo el tiempo, pasamos un rato super agradable caminando alrededor!!   

How not to stand amaze at the awesome creation that we are allowed to enjoy? Nobody planted them but there they are offering us all its beauty!! (They are wild flowers!)
Como no quedarnos asombrados con la espectacularidad de la creacion que podemos disfrutar? Nadie las planto pero alli estan ofreciendonos toda su belleza!! (Son flores silvestres!)

We should be grateful to God for opening up our eyes to see the wonderful world we are at!!
Debemos estar agradecidos con Dios por abrir nuestros ojos para ver el maravilloso mundo en el que estamos!! 

Aren't we really fortunate to be able to enjoy these beauties? I think so!!

How true it's that nature always finds a way!! Look at this dandelion, normally grows closer to the soil, but here, ''sharing'' spots with other flowers, needs to be ''taller'' to be able to enjoy the sun!!
Que cierto es que la naturaleza siempre encuentra la manera!! Miren este diente de leon, que normalmente crece mas cerca del suelo, pero como aqui ''comparte'' el terreno con otras flores, necesita ser mas ''alto'' para poder disfrutar del sol!!

Everyone should have time for some special delight everyday, if only five minutes each day to seek out a lovely flower, or a cloud, or a star, something that will make us to feel great, something that will help us to discover  new ways to be happy every day!! And for sure, I was really enjoying being there and for more than 5 minutes, lol!!
Todos deberiamos tener tiempo diariamente para un deleite especial, al menos 5 minutos cada dia disfrutando de una hermosa flor, o de una nube, o de una estrella, algo que nos hara sentir muy bien, y tambien nos ayudara a descubrir nuevas manera de ser felices cada dia!! Y seguro que yo estaba disfrutando el estar alli y por mas de 5 minutos, jajaja!! 

Everything in nature has something marvelous, do you agree? I hope so!!
Todo en la naturaleza tiene algo de maravilloso, estan de acuerdo? Espero que si!!

It's easy to let days fly by without taking notice of the world around us. Life is beautiful, we need to appreciate it more and be grateful!!
Es facil dejar que los dias vuelen sin notar el mundo alrededor nuestro. La vida es hermosa, necesitamos apreciarla mas y ser agradecidos!!

And with the heat wave we are experiencing these days, for sure we were ''dreaming'' about enjoying it skiing in Mount Baker!!
Y con la ola de calor que estamos experimentando estos dias, seguro que estabamos ''sonando'' disfrutarla esquiando en el Monte Baker!!
 

And these couple of female ducks were some of  the few birds we were able to see, but was reading that September and October are the best months to bird watching there, sure we'll come back by then!!
Y esta pareja de patas fueron unas de las pocas aves que pudimos ver, pero estuve leyendo que Septiembre y Octubre son los mejores meses para ir a observar aves alli, asi que seguro volveremos para entonces!!
 

All the little ''black dots'' are singing birds, you cannot imagine how loud was their singing!!, they were enjoying a lot of food available all over the ''park''!!
Y esos pequenos ''puntos negros'' son pajaritos cantores, no se imaginan a que volumen tan alto estaban cantando!!,  estaban disfrutando de toda la comida que tienen disponible por todo el ''parque''!!
