Salmon!!!!!!

After a weekend with a lot of rain, last Monday was gorgeous and after a client told me the salmon was back to Bear Creek, I went that afternoon and enjoyed an spectacular show!!
And once I learn how to post videos from my smartphone you'll enjoy one with all the "action"!!!
Luego de un fín de semana con mucha lluvia, el pasado lunes estuvo precioso y luego de que una clienta me dijo que el salmón estaba de regreso a la quebrada del oso, esa tarde me fuí y disfruté de un show espectacular!!
Y una vez aprenda cómo bajar videos de mi celular podrán disfrutar de uno con toda la "acción"!!! 
 

Even it can "sound" a little sad, how perfect it's that they return to their natal streams to spawn and eventually die. It's their cycle and I'm glad I'm here and able to see it!!
Aunque puede "sonar" un poco triste, que perfecto es que regresan a su quebrada natal a desovar y eventualmente morir. Es su ciclo y me alegro de estar aquí y poderlo ver!!
  

How they come back to the exact place where they were born? I don't know, but it's incredible to know they do!!
Cómo regresan al lugar exacto donde nacieron? No lo se, pero es increíble saber que lo hacen!!
  

Swimming against the current they come to "supply the seeds" of the next generation that will someday return to continue the cycle!!
Nadando contra la corriente vienen a "proveer las semillas" de la próxima generación que algún día regresarán a continuar el ciclo!!

I couldn't enjoy the closest moon during the weekend, but even it was cloudy that night, I was able to take some pictures and I love them with all the effects from the clouds!!
No pude disfrutar de la luna más de cerca durante el fín de semana, pero aunque estaba nublado esa noche, pude tomar algunas fotos y me encantan con todos esos efectos de las nubes!!

It's the same sky for each and every one of us, but how different it can looks depending on where we are!!
Es el mismo cielo para todos y cada uno de nosotros, pero cuan diferente puede lucir dependiendo de donde estemos!!

Something that sometimes I think is that our ancestors were enjoying the same moon that we are!!
Algo que algunas veces pienso es que nuestros ancestros solían gozar la misma luna que nosotros gozamos!!
 

Everyone wants to be somebody's "sunshine", but why not the moon that can shine during the darkest moments and that we all can look at?
Todos deseamos ser el "sol" de alguien, pero por qué no la luna que puede brillar durante los momentos más oscuros y a la que todos podemos mirar?
  

No matter the clouds, the moon stills shine!!!
Sin importar las nubes, la luna aún brilla!!!

It looks like we can have it in our hands, but even we cannot ..... the reality is that it's a "small" but anyway essential part of our universe!!
Parece como si la pudieramos coger con nuestras manos, pero aunque no podemos ..... la realidad es que es una "pequeña" pero de todas formas parte esencial de nuestro universo!!

Yes, the weather is chilly now, but looking at wild flowers like this one that looks like fire, makes me feel "warm" inside!!
Si, el clima está más frio ahora, pero viendo flores silvestres como esta que luce como en fuego, me hace sentir "calientita" por dentro!!

No, I don't like spiders, but I love taking pictures of them and admiring their job!!
No, no me gustan las arañas, pero adoro tomarles fotos y admirar su trabajo!!

Last month I went to a light festival at Bear Creek Park and enjoyed spectacular changing color lights displays and even got 2 of these lanterns!!
El mes pasado fui a un festival de luz en el parque Quebrada del oso y disfruté de unos escenarios espectaculares con luces de colores cambiantes y hasta conseguí 2 de estas lámparas!!
  

It was a perfect evening to enjoy the festival,  and I'm very glad I went and had a great time, and also because now you can enjoy some pictures with me!!
Fue una tarde preciosa para disfrutar del festival, y me siento afortunada de haber ido y gozado de un rato agradable, y también porque ahora pueden disfrutar algunas fotos conmigo!!

Incredible what some lights can do!!! Love this picture with the Chapel in the woods (where John and I got married!) in the back!!
Increible lo que unas luces pueden hacer!!! Adoro esta foto con la Capilla en el bosque (donde nos casamos John y yo!) en el fondo!!

Just as we have the sun shining during the day, I'm also glad we have the nights to enjoy these lights shining too!!
Así como tenemos el sol brillando durante el día, me alegra que tenemos noches para disfrutar el brillo de estas luces también!!

I feel so glad living here!! So many events people of all ages can enjoy, close to home, and free!!
Me siento con tanta suerte de vivir aquí!! Tantos eventos que gente de todas las edades podemos disfrutar, cerca a casa, y gratuito!!

Mushrooms!! - Hongos!!

Remember I mentioned was planning to post some pictures of more amazing mushrooms? Here you have them!!
Recuerdan que mencioné que estaba planeando bajar algunas fotos de más hongos asombrosos? Aquí los tienen!!

I was fascinated looking at them, but get the ones I want to eat from the supermarket, because as the saying says "All mushrooms are edible, but some just once!"
Estaba fascinada viéndoles, pero consigo los que quiero comer en el supermercado, porque como dice el dicho "Todos los hongos son comestibles, pero algunos sólo una vez!"
 

And they are so pretty, that they are probably very poisonous as well!!
Y son tan hermosos, que probablemente son muy venenosos también!!

An Amanita muscaria, that has the ability to paralyze the insects that enter in contact with it!!

And yes, after careful and specific procedures (that I'm not planning to try!!!), they can be eat.  Russians and Scandinavians enjoy them a lot!!!
Y sí, luego de procedimientos cuidadosos y específicos (que no estoy planeando intentar!!!), pueden comerse. Rusos y Escandinavos los disfrutan muchísimo!!!

Mushrooms are known as the "meat" of the vegetable world, but for sure not these ones!!!
Los hongos son conocidos como la "carne" en el mundo vegetal, pero seguro que estos no!!!

During centuries they have been used in different ways: medicinal, for religious purposes, even to dye natural fibers and producing strong, vivid colors!!
Durante siglos se han usado en formas diferentes: medicinal, con fines religiosos, inclusive para teñir fibras naturales y produciendo colores fuertes y vívidos!!

As my sister Pilar says, how spectacular nature is!!
Como dice mi hermana Pilar, que espectacular es la naturaleza!!

They can grow to be as big as a dinner plate!!!
Pueden crecer hasta ser tan grandes como un plato de comida!!!

Apparently are considered good luck in many parts of Europe, and I was lucky being able to see them .... and you looking at the pictures I took!!
Aparentemente son considerados de buena suerte en muchas partes de Europa, y yo tuve la suerte de poderlos ver .... y ustedes de ver las fotos que tomé!!  

And some days later ..... maybe you'll recognize some of them, bigger now!!

Many times we take things for granted, and even beauty is always there, these mushrooms for example were here just for some days. I dare all of you to try to see something beautiful every day!!
Muchas veces tomamos cosas por garantizadas, y aunque la belleza está siempre ahí, estos hongos por ejemplo estuvieron aquí por sólo unos días. Los reto a tratar de ver algo hermoso cada día!!
 

We live in a beautiful world, let's keep our eyes open to enjoy more and more all its beauty!!
